PS: They did have a mildly amusing easter egg planted in the show, though.  As a slave in the future Reese has a barcode tattooed on his arm.  Guess what the first five numbers were (albeit jumbled)?

Nerd.

Even I'm impressed

Jericho was good tonight; good to see it back on. :yay

Esai Morales was a good addition to the show. Jake is now the Sheriff. Hawkins is still the best character on the show and Peyton is still a douchebag. They've been able to keep it interesting and with new ideas after what many thought should be a one hitter quitter because once the attacks were over and the aftermath, what else could there be? Well, I like how they are setting it up.

*** SPOILER BELOW ***

The Good:

Jericho was pretty good.  Esai Morales is a definite welcome to the show.  I was kinda disappointed to find out that only 15 million people died in the attacks, though.  That doesn't seem possible considering 20+ cities were destroyed.  And only 40 million homeless?  WTF!  Weak effort, terrorists.  WEAK!

Eh - at least Iran & North Korea were wiped off the map.  Which is nice.

Anyway, I liked how they resolved the war between Jericho & New Bern.  The fact that the army basically stepped in and bitch-slapped both sides was kinda cool.

Also like the fact that the little fag who ran the grocery store was nowhere to be seen.

Hawkins is basically the co-lead of the show.  I don't know if it was the intention of the producers to make him the start but the dude who plays him is the best actor on the show.  Hell, he makes even Johnny Depp II palatable in the scenes they share.

The bad: Peyton Manning is still alive.  They're still focusing on the farmer and the IRS whore.  She's hot for a freckled-face freak, but enough already.  And Emily is still wearing entirely too many clothes.

Overall, I'll give the premiere a 3.5/5.

Looks like we saw it the same way, Rome.

I read that Jake's momma wasn't signed but will make an appearnace or two which is obviously why they talk about her holing up at the ranch mourning Major Dad.

Dale will be around at some point. Him and his little whooruh will do something stupid soon like try to steal MRE's and sell them or something.

Stanley's deaf sister wasn't around this episode either; I wonder what she thinks about her brother and Ms. IRS?

Rome

I think I'd bang her deaf little ass rotten.

;D

I enjoyed watching them make excuses for the missing actors, though.  Anyone who didn't re-sign was basically "elsewhere" tonight.  Hawkins's kids weren't there, the mother was gone, etc.  Too bad the fat sheriff's deputy and his faggy buddy were there.  They had the good sense to keep them in the hospital room where they belonged, though.  Again, too bad they weren't dead.

The one thing that really disappointed me was that we're not getting any real back story into what happened to the rest of the country yet.  They're giving us dribs and drabs (loved the nuke shot of the city [Los Angeles maybe??] disappearing in a flash) but not enough for my taste.  Plus the whole three countries thing is gonna be tedious too.  I have a bad feeling about that.

What I really want them to do is leave Jericho behind.  I want Hawkins to get own show and the best way to do that is for him to set up a remote trigger on the nuke and when he gets 30-40 miles away, blow Jericho and all the bad actors left behind to kingdom come.

MDS

I saw the first 3 episodes like 2 months ago. I have no recollection of what happened.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Wingspan

I enjoyed Jericho last year. I thought last night sucked. It's just another 24/x-files/prison break...etc...where they take an interesting premise and then ruin it with cover up and conspiracy.

It was boring. It should have stayed canceled. Think of all the nuts that were wasted.

MDS

Jericho finished behind an SVU repeat in both overall ratings and the demo last night. Certainly not a good start to it getting a 3rd season.

I saw Jericho as well. I didn't find it any diff. than the season before. Cheesy as all hell, but anything apocalyptic is right up my alley, cheese or not

I was kind of disappointed by Jericho. Maybe I set my hopes too high.
