Just coming to ask opinions on this^^^^ and "I'll be gone in the dark" about the Golden State Killer. I love serial killer shtein so I'm watching the latter regardless

ill be gone in the dark is so farging good...two sorta kinda problems with it...

1. its hbo so you cant binge...it drives me nuts that i have to wait a week to see each episode

2. if you read the book (i did) there is nothing new story wise for you

but its incredibly well done and you get a bunch of video and pictures that werent in the book...and of course you get to see and hear survivor stories which is a little different but not as in depth as reading about them

makes me incredibly sad that michelle didnt get to see her book come out

I watched a 2 hour doc on the GSK. He just fully confessed last week. What gets me with him is he would bound/kill his victims then go and cook and eat food from their kitchen before he bounced.

he used to lay the husband down on his stomach on the bed while he would be raping the wife out in the living room and he would put bowls and plates from the kitchen on the husbands back and say if i hear any dishes clanging im coming back in and murdering you

They had a community meeting about him and one of the Male attendees stood up and made this long soapbox speech about women should keep a man in the house and the GSK is a coward and only goes after women who are alone. So that night the GSK went to that guys house, tied him up and raped his wife next to him. That's some next level nutso

I had only read that he switched from single woman to houses with not just men but also dogs because it was in the paper and on tv news that single women is what he went after...it also would completely go against his MO in that he stalked all his victims

In a Sacramento Bee story, Daly recalls how she and her colleagues would hold community meetings to ease fears and answer questions as police tried desperately to stop the killer terrorizing their community. At one meeting, Daly told the Bee, a man stood up and berated law enforcement and, by extension, the husband of victims of the East Area Rapist, for not fighting back as the killer would rape their wives.

Not long after, someone broke into that man's home and assaulted his wife, said Daly, now 76. "I know the rapist was at that community meeting."

i thought you were saying it happened that same night and it was his first attack on a couple...he was long into going after victims where men were in the house by then because it was all over the media and it pretty much mirrors all his attacks with months/weeks of stalking

I watched the doc last week I could have swore they said same night or shortly (day or two) after. Maybe they played it up for the doc.

Manhattan which is one of the best shows of the last ten years just hit Hulu today...if you have Hulu I highly recommend it...just fantastic

new bundy doc on amazon prime dropped...i watched four of the five eps last night...lots of interviews with people ive never seen before.....bundy survivors....friends of the victims who were there...most bundy docs are all about him but this one is mostly about the victims and the doc is carried by interviews with his longtime girlfriend...it also breaks down his crimes better than maybe all the docs ive seen on him..they use maps and dates really well to paint the picture and timeline

Holy shtein good looking out definite binge watch tonight. Bundy is kind of overdone (although I always get sucked in when a show about him comes on)...sounds like a nice change of pace. I watched an interview with one of the girls who got away. He raped her and strangled her 5 times rendering her unconscious each time then she came to and he wasn't around but she could still see his VWs headlights, so she jumped in a nearby river and floated downstream to safety. I wish ID would do more shows about survivors of attacks, I like seeing the shows when they bring the victim out at the end as sort of a surprise they got away.
