I'm definitely gonna check that out.

I keep hearing Ozark on Netflix is decent.

I got through two eps of Ozark and it's OK so far. Maybe a bit cliche and nothing amazing but has kept my attention. I like both Jason and Bateman and Laura Linney though.

i am a staunch defender of terrible tv but ballers may be too much even for me
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Rome

I didn't make it thru an entire episode of Ballers before shutting it off.   It's garbage just like everything else The Rock appears in.   Too bad because I usually like Rob Corddry.

I guess if you like watching stories about jocks, it's fine, but it's not for me.

plot of the last episode
-the rock is in vegas. immediately meets an attractive woman who he had a previous relationship with. fargs her in short order. then goes to a monster struck show in an attempt to convince a local politico he is a las vegas local. he is allowed to drive a monster truck despite the obvious insurance nightmares. he crashes the monster truck. he is fine. he announces he wants to bring the nfl to vegas in front of a cheap green screen. also he plays golf with the mayor, played by cheryl ladd who still looks bonkers.

-rob corrdry and the retired black dude buy a car in attempt to con the defensive lineman character and his idiot friend/manager not to endorse a weed product. they fail.

-denzel washington's son losses millions of dollars playing craps, evidently betting just the point.

-the lone female regular has only one scene, and its where she is simultaneously nagging her husband and supporting his bumbling, incompetent ways.

-the worthless agent character is robbed by some black guys while attempting to sign a made up running back. he eventually meets the running back who then helps him get his money back.

more people watch this show in a week than the combined 5 season audience of the wire.

I remember catching an episode when it first came out....maybe it was the pilot?  I dunno.  I just know it sucked.  From what I remember, the 5 or 10 minutes of it that I caught revolved around some football player (I assume he was The Rock's client) meeting the head coach at a Marina early in the morning and agreeing to be a deck hand on his boat for the day in order to show good character and that he was worthy of a contract...or something like that.  I dunno.  It was bad and the few minutes I spent watching I wasn't even all that tuned in to what was going on.

It seemed like an extension of that awful awful ESPN show Playmakers, but with less focus on the players themselves and more focus on the business side of things.
