the end could be good if the last season includes some flashback episodes to show more specifically how where and why the plague started

That's kind of the entire point of Fear The Walking Dead.

True but as bad as the characters are on TWD they're worse on FTWD.   I gave up on it after the pilot.

Also - it took every bit of self restraint not to mock Sean over the Harry Potter comment.

yeah glenn's deal is pretty much when I stopped reading because the tv series was going full bore and like you, I didnt want to be comparing the the two. pretty much did the same thing with harry potter.

So, I'm just going to pretend this didn't happen.

Really don't think most of the main characters are that bad anymore. I've liked Rick since somewhere in the middle of Season 3, minus the few episodes in Season 4 when he was being a huge Hoyda. Carol is awesome. Carl is much less annoying now because he isn't constantly getting into trouble and needing to get bailed out.

None of the other characters are bad enough+get enough screen time for me to get annoyed with them.

Also think the show has been on another level the last 2.5 seasons. So far I've enjoyed this season as well. Next week looks like a canned episode about Morgan, and they've done good with the canned episodes in the past.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Sgt PSN

Carl is still pretty awful. I know he's a kid, but he's a really bad actor. Most of the time he just sounds like he's reading his lines.

there really is no point to anything that's happened after maybe ep 10...since then they have been milking awesome ratings until they have to end it which doesn't appear to be happening anytime soon

edit: oh I guess fear of the walking dead is a spin off?

you have the worst taste in tv and movies of anyone I can ever remember and this is even bad for you

s1 was amazing and so far thru the first two eps of s2 it's somehow gotten significantly better

I didn't care much for the Leftovers, the girl who cuts my hair loves it...it just did nothing for me.

The Walking Dead survives because of the survival/zombie/post apocalyptic aspect. That's why FTWD wasn't as big of a hit. Nobody cares about the family or the beginning of the outbreak. I personally think it's interesting but that part of the story doesn't need an explanation. TWD applies to our innermost nature of hunter/gatherer/survival.

On a different topic, Homeland has been good this season. Fan reaction has been mixed so far but I like the way they're going. Quinn is probably the most underrated character currently on television.

SunMo

for a network show, Limitless is pretty good.  i checked it out with low expectations but it doesn't take itself too seriously
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

My bad. Fixed it for ya.

no big deal, I read the books enough to know that this was out there, just wasn't sure if Kirkland would follow that part of the storyline in the tv series.

I haven't read them yet (I think I'll wait until the show is over so that I don't come across any similarities or try to compare the 2 at the same time) but I've known for a while that Glenn gets got, but in the books I beleive it was much later in the story and in a much different way.

much different way indeed.

It was promoted enough. TWD came along at the perfect time. Zombies were mainstream and the show came out at its height. People became invested in the show and now they can't stop watching. The problem with FWTD is fans are expecting the same zombie killing/survival feeling they get when they watch TWD. When I originally heard about FTWD I thought it was just about a different group of survivors on the west coast. That would have been a much better concept than a dysfunctional family at the onset of the outbreak.

Eagles_Legendz

I've probably seen 15 TWD episodes - not really my thing - but I always agreed with Greenwald that it would be ideal as an anthology series.

smeags

im kind of luke warm on FTWD. good enough that I watched the whole season but I wouldnt be upset if it didn't come back on.
