Yeah, you're right......just checked Slick Rick and figured since he did some stuff with Doug E Fresh that he was around a little earlier but he didn't cut his first album until 88.  So yeah, he doesn't belong there.  Beasties are kind of in between because they came out right during the transition from old to new, but probably belong with the new too.

you cant judge it by date you have to go by style and nothing about slick rick or the beasties rhyming would be considered old school

i've heard a few friends say they didn't like the new beasties album but i think it's really good. very check your head-ish. not going to have that huge radio hit but it's a great headphones walking around album.
