Igy....

Thx for the hookup with the Raheem and MC Trouble.  Even though I didn't get to play the MC Trouble sat night,  I ran the Raheem in with Breeze's "LA Posse" and Def Jef's "Give It Here" and finished that part of the mix off with Cypress' "I Could Just Kill a Man"; my peoples were wildin out off it.  Much respect -ZOD

You'd be surprised....  Hittin up new era shtein for 3 hrs of a 4 hr gig has peoples lovin that stuff when it gets dropped...  but ya gotta read the crowd (30 +) and hit em with stuff they ain't heard in a minute

if the crowd is patient enough to sit through 3-4 hours of all that t-pain, lil wayne, young jeezy garbage they call modern rap, they deserve to be rewarded with something that doesn't suck balls.

except mc trouble does suck balls and raheem while dope is incredibly dated and not something that would come close to rewarding me for sitting thru a set of current rap trash

That's why I hit it off in 10 min sets (r&b, GoGo, east coast, dirty south, reggae, baltimore club, etc.) when I bring it at my shows....  I rarely ever play a whole song; I might play 1/3 to 1/2 snippets of it and then mix into something else.

Raheem and MC Trouble by itself might not work, but if you have a 30+ crowd and blend an old-school new jack swing flavor to your set  (ex. Father MC-"I'll Do For U" to Wreckx-n-Effect-"New Jack Swing" to MC Trouble-"Wanna Make U Mine" to Heavy D-"Somebody For Me" and finish it with a well-known classic from Guy, A.B.C, or Johnny Gill) then it's a done deal.

As for the Raheem, for two weeks I've had this dude begging me to play some old school west coast stuff since he was from Venice Beach, but he only wanted the stuff BEFORE the WC gangsta rap blew the danceable west coast out the water.  I wanted to play Hammer's "Pump It Up" but I didn't have the cooler extended version so I went with the King T to MC Breeze to Def Jef to Raheem and ended on the Cypress Hill note.  30+ crowd, everyone went bananas.....  I didn't even have to run old school east coast, which is what I normally do.  Damn, I'm a BEAST....
