Hey Phreak, if the Saints take Bush as is being reported, do you think McAllister may shake loose?

PhillyPhreak54

Nah, I doubt it.

He just signed a contract extension not too long ago and I don't know if the Saints would want to take the hit by cutting him. And if they tried to trade him then they wouldn't get real value because of the contract and the fact he is coming off of a torn ACL.

Sean Payton is an offensive guy. So my guess is that he would use Bush much like Houston was projected to use him and Domanick Davis and Vernand Morency.

Bush will be a jack-of-all-trades guy. He'll get some carries, split out wide, return punts, etc.

Displaced

Gotcha.  Just looks like it could get pretty crowded in that backfield with Michael Bennett, Duece, the other guy I forget his name and Reggie Bush.

Why do I have the feeling hey pass on Bush or trry and trade Mcallister?

I think they should trade that pick, move back two or three spots and take Brick.  The Jets would love Bush.

PhillyPhreak54

I have a feeling that the Jets are going to make a play for that #2 pick. I posted the scenario in the Walker thread in the Eagles section.

New Orleans trades the #2 to New York
New York trades the #4 and #29 to New Orleans

New York drafts Reggie Bush
New Orleans drafts Ferguson (or someone else) at #4 and then trades #29 to GB for Walker

Magical_Retard

wow this is pretty damn big.

if im the saints i wouldnt know what to do right now. duece is coming off an injury, a pretty serious one at that. do i draft bush who could be a legend or do i trade him and fill other needs?

tough tough decision. i just hope the scenario phreak played out doesnt become true with NO ending up with Walker.

Adam Schefter over at NFL.Com says the texans balked at Bush' contract demands and took Williams instead.

He later reported that it was simply that the Texans felt both were elite talents, but they needed a DE more.

I also have to say it's hilarious how guys like Fat Len and McShay are ripping into the Texans hard.  Bush is the better prospect, yes, but the two positions where the Texans have talent/promise are RB and return man.

Tomahawk

The Texans must agree with my sentiment that Bush is going to be a bust.

Rome

First shock of the day, I must say.

Reggie Bush played hardball with the Texans and they simply shrugged and went the other way.

Nice.

Also - did someone actually post that Reggie Bush will be the best running back in the history of the NFL in this thread?

i don't know about that, but Michael Irvin said last night that this could be the move that keeps David Carr from getting into the HOF

WTF???  I guess he's just warming up for the draft coverage.
