According to the New York Daily News, however, the popular Yankees manager will be fired unless he decides to resign first to save face. Sources told the newspaper that former Yankees player and manager Lou Piniella will be owner George Steinbrenner's choice to replace Torre

Say what you want, but I'd be thrilled to get ARod. Especially if there was a chance the Yanks would take Burrell and some young prospects off our hands for him. He's still one of the most talented hitters in the game.

What I do wonder though is whether he'd waive his FNTC and play 3B somewhere else. He only did that in NY because of Jeter. Would he want to go back to playing SS? I hope so. Don't want him here.

Even though, Buster Olney said this on M&M the other day, that he "only" has $64M remaining on his deal he'd be fairly cheap when you look at what the other top guys are going to want.

Olney said that Soriano is going to ask for $80M+
Carlos Lee will want $80M+ too.

That's fargin nutzo.
