QuoteMay 26 - The Angels are in a full-scale hunt for a power bat, and finances won't slow a deal if it's the right one, the Orange County Register reports. Owner Arte Moreno has given his pledge to bump up the payroll if another team makes a slugger available, and GM Bill Stoneman will consider moving prospects or major-leaguers, whether they're pitchers or position players.
Stoneman wants a hitter in the category of Paul Konerko, Manny Ramirez or Miguel Tejada, the three players the Angels tracked unsuccessfully last winter. "When I say an impact bat, I'm using the example of last year's free-agent market. There was one impact bat available," Stoneman told the newspaper. "We're looking for a guy who has a real impact, not where you're just changing faces. To get them you've got to give something up."

Hmm...Angels need a big bat.

I've been pimping Chone Figgins and a pitcher for Bobby A.

I would rather wait until the winter though.

But Posada is hurt. He has a torn tendon or something behind his knee.

Dang it.  :boom

That's what I get for trying to do this through 8th grade graduation and final exams.   :-D

Barry Bonds finally passes Babe Ruth.
Bonds 715th
When you're riding in a time machine way far into the future, don't stick your elbow out the window, or it'll turn into a fossil.

I'm a Bonds fan but I'm the only reason I'm glad he hit it at this point is so that everyone will stfu about it for a few months until/if he gets close to Hammerin Hank.

Now ESPN has to fill an entire 60 minute segment of SC  instead of cutting out 15 minutes of it for every Bonds at bat.  Oh the horror.

Szmarzdrza?  Best I can do.  I found the article about him being drafted by searching for "notre dame wr jeff" on Google.
