Bobby's "comfort" zone means nothing to me. Go out and play where your name is in the lineup, and stop bitching.

Thing is, he is most effective and useful hitting in the middle of the order. For the last time, hitting him first marganilizes his skills and makes the middle of the order weaker. Jimmy is not the best leadoff hitter, but in the long run, his hitting leadoff isn't the problem. This team won 88 games last year, and the reason they didn't win more was pitching. It was not the lineup. Say what you want about Rollins hitting leadoff, but in the end the lineup still gets the job done. Yes, they've been crappy for the past week. But Abreu is starting to pick it up, and Rollins went 2/4 with a walk yesterday, maybe he's getting out of his slump. Just chill out, and complain about the starting pitching and lame ass bullpen outside of Gordon. Thats the problem, kids.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

ice grillin you

wait you mean their starting pitching sucks?

its not about what the biggest problem is...its about improving the team...and right now there are no ways to improve the pitching but there are ways to improve the lineup...first and foremost getting a leadoff hitter...at the very least you try bobby there for a month he cant be worse than the atrocious rollins...maybe that 88 wins last year becomes 90 this year with bobby leading off and thus they make the playoffs...

im bored of this team.

if ryan franklin isn't beaten to shtein in the shower, then this team is every bit as sad as i think it is.

Whizzer summed up what I was trying to say.

And Bobby's tool is nowhere near me, IGY. I am an Abreu fan and I know he's got his faults. But I wouldn't hit him leadoff. I want him in the 3 hole. That is where he hits best.

And I saw none of the game tonight. I only got to hear the 15th and 16th on the way home and I am so worn out that I really don't care what happened. I'm sure I'll be pissed as hell tomorrow. I do know that Ryan Franklin is a chode though. But you have to give Reyes some credit for hitting that ball out. It was an inch off he ground.

Hamels is in a big spot. They have to win tonight and THU.

And did I see that David Bell had 5 rbis? What the hell is up with him?

MDS

All the idiots on Philliesphans are in tears over this, but it comes as no surprise to me:

HAMELS IS HEADING BACK TO PHILLY, ANOTHER INJURY. LIEBER WILL START TOMMOROW INSTEAD, EVERYONE ELSE UP A DAY.

No word on how long he will be out, but they will need another starter for the friday game (in LA?). Actually, ironically enough, Madson would probably get the call for that. If not, probably Brito.

Jesus farging Christ. >:(

From the Inky;

QuoteThe Phillies, who learned Tuesday that lefthander Cole Hamels was scratched from Wednesday's start after he felt two pops in his shoulder before the game, had just two pitchers left in the bullpen: lefthander Rheal Cormier and closer Tom Gordon.

Hopefully its nothing serious. :-\

Hamels, even though loaded with potential, is a china doll.

MDS, we've got Milwaukee this weekend

PhillyPhreak54

"Right now it feels weird," Hamels said in a dead quiet clubhouse. "Since I felt a difference in the way my arm was feeling than over the last couple of days it worries me a little bit."

"I don't want the same mistake happen twice," said Hamels, who tried to pitch through the elbow tenderness in 2004. "It's a little different then it was in spring training. I don't want to hurt this team. We have a chance to make the playoffs and I don't want to get in the way of that."

"I've never experienced anything like this," Hamels said. "That's why it's so new to me. That's why when it first happened I didn't want to take any chances."

MDS

He's a walking DL stint. Sucks, but figures to be the Phillies luck.

Milwaukee, eh? Okay, were due for some wins against them. Hopefully Cole can pitch friday, if not just miss the one start.

By the way, that game tonight blew.

abreu made one of the chicken shtein plays of all-time last nite...so much for rowand rubbing off on him...how does he have the balls to pull something like that after what happend just a couple weeks ago...he should be sat down for a game or two for that

pops in the shoulder = really bad

they need to be ultra cautious with hamels...even if it means sitting him for the year...its next year and more likely two years from now where the phils can make a real run
