The Phillies aren't going to trade Abreu to the Yankees--the Yankees have nothing to offer Philadelphia.  Why would Philly trade Abreu for mid-level prospects?  They have enough cash coming off the books next year with Bell, Lieberthal, and Wolf, that they don't need to get rid of Abreu.

The Phillies should be looking to buy this year, not sell, and especially not getting rid of Abreu for anyone that isn't a top line prospect if they aren't inquiring about major league help.  I have a feeling this entire "rumor" that's been floating around for days is simply a product of Olney.

Either way, I don't see why everyone is so anxious to get rid of Abreu.

2-1 brew crew, phils coming up to bat @ the top of the 6th.

Thought I was the only one watching. This one is a snoozer again, not real spectactular pitching or defense, just a "meh" kind of game.

Sort of knew it was going to be a snoozefest since the bats have been cold lately and Capuano is a decent pitcher.

I've got it on as well.  The lack of hitting tonight is driving my up a wall.  Lidle's pitching well for a change.

I watch all the games on MLB TV via the internet. The cool thing about it is, when the Phils are on the road, you can listen to the play by play guys and analysts for other teams and get some "outsider" perspective on the Phils. The guys for the Brewers are pretty good.

One thing I have heard over and over from just about every announcer crew is Bobby Abreu comments about how underrated he is. The guys tonight are comparing him over and over to Carlos Lee, pretty similar stats, etc.. It's a shame so many fans in Philly or of the Phillies think the guy is a bum. I'll never understand it.

I watch on DirecTV, so I get the "outsider" perspective ALL THE FREAKING TIME.

What I wouldn't give for a few games with the rich, baritone voice of one Harry Kalas...

Brewers outfielder Hall is a Hoyda, if that were Rowand he'd of run through the wall and made the catch.

Bell with the GR double to center to knock Victorino in. All tied up 2-2

By the way, PPDC, I've heard many of the opposing announcers wax poetic about Bobby Abreu.  Just seems to be par for the course with Philly- Abreu, McNabb, Iverson- tear down the person perceived to be the "top player."

LBIggle

pat burrell has been a whole lot of nothing spectacular this year so far.

Geowhizzer

Nice poke by Bell over Bill Hall's head for the game-tying double.

Fasano just swung at a pitch over his eyes.  :boom

Don't worry, Nunez is here to save the day.

Come on, that first deep fly to the center field warning track didn't worry me a bit.

Not even a little.

Nope.
