Howard just hit a BOMB to centerfield.  :yay

Howard just crushed one to deep center. What a shot. 1-0. Harry K just said it was 496. Holy shtein.

Utley and Manual were tossed after the first base ump clearly made the wrong call.

I just about woke up my son yelling at the TV about that one- after fighting with him for an hour to take his nap.

I sounded like John McEnroe on that one:  "You can't be serious!"

Please ban me, I have nothing to contribute.* howard hit one over the batters eye in center. it landed in that area where you cant go anymore with the phillies timeline thing.

howard just hit another. jeez.

* i wrote zOMG as a joke and thats the filter. nice.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Howard's CF HR was farging awesome. To get a ball over the batters eye in CF is amazing. He's strong as an ox. And then he goes oppo in his next AB. Nice to see him getting some XBH's.

And Dan Iassogna is the ump who threw Chase and Charlie out.

Iassogna is the guy who used to get into it with L-Bo all the time. He's like 5'6 and has that Napoleon complex.

Utley was safe. But Iassogna waits for it, waits for it......then rings him up. He gave the dramatic pause and then made the wrong call. Utley slammed his helmet and he got tossed. Then Charlie got tossed too.

Total bullshtein.

The biggest problem was that David Bell had the day off and when Chase got tossed Nunez went to 2nd and David had to come in at 3rd and bat cleanup. :-\

Nice grab by Rollins there.

Howard's two HRs were awesome.  He's got power to hit it out anywhere in the park.  Even with Thome hitting well (and I am glad he is), the Phils still made the right decision to go with Howard.  He'll be here the next 8 years, FA notwithstanding.

Flash strikes out the side to get his 5th save.

Man, he's got great stuff. That cutter he learned from Mariano is deadly.

Now we've got the Rockies sans Helton for 4 games.

Must sweep.

MDS

id take 3/4, which would make a for a 5-4 homestand (not great, but in the long run its fine). josh fogg, who owns the phillies, goes monday against mr. mediocre cory lidle.

That shot that Howard hit to center looked just like the one he hit in Clearwater in Spring Training.

496 feet?  Jesus Christ.

He can hit a curve ball.

BigEd76

It bounced once on Ashburn Alley and hit the face on Dick Allen's plaque...  :-D

Michael Jordan couldn't.  I doubt Christ could dunk it from the free throw line, though.

SD_Eagle5

Christ could dunk it from half court as long as he was wearing his Air Jesus sandals.

Can't find a link yet, but supposedly Hamels was promoted to Scranton  :yay

ice grillin you

the amazing thing about howards homer is not its distance....for example reggie abercrombie hit one 495 this week...its that it went to straight center...to hit a ball that far without pulling it is unreal
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

igy gettin it done like warrick

im the board pharmacist....always one step above yous
