Have I mentioned that I hate this team lately?

Yeah I predicted them to go the playoffs. And I jokingly put them in the WS. But I am optimistic at the beginning of every sports season.

Anyways, let me ask those of you who want Manuel fired something.

Why?

We know he's not a great manager. But is changing managers going to improve this team? I don't think so. Like I said the other day when people were ranting about Abreu in the leadoff spot -- this team is FUNDAMENTALLY FLAWED!

Until they stop striking out so much, until they get better starting pitching and until they play SMART baseball they will not win a goddamn thing.

Is firing Uncle Charlie going to magically help Pat remove the bat from his shoulder on a 2 strike count?

Is firing him going to help Ryan Howard field a ball?

Is firing him going to help the atrocious starting pitching?

Now I wouldn't care if he was fired. I really don't. I actually hope he is canned so people will stop talking about firing him. Remember when Bowa was fired? Remember when Francona was canned? Nothing changed. Not a goddamn single thing changed. They still suck. And they will continue to suck until these things happen;

1. The owners sell

2. Montgomery is fired

3. The culture changes and some of these guys are let go and/or traded.

at this point its the principle of it phreak...the team has given up and blatantly disrespect the manager...are they gonna magically make the playoffs if hes fired...of course not....but it will show that someone somewhere cares that this team stinks and doesnt play the game the right way...not to mention in game managing will automatically improve as well

I too had higher hopes for a better season at this point (even wild card seems a long shot now), but when the team is constantly making routine/fundamental errors it's gonna be a looooong season.

i thought there could be nothing worse than being at my sister's 3 hour graduation followed up by a 2.5 hour debacle at Applebee's.
