...HEAVY RAIN POSSIBLE TONIGHT AND FRIDAY MORNING...

A COMPLEX FRONT MOVING INTO THE APPALACHIAN REGION THIS AFTERNOON IS EXPECTED TO SLOW DOWN AS IT MOVES ACROSS OUR AREA OVERNIGHT AND FRIDAY MORNING. THIS SLOW MOVING SYSTEM IS FORECAST TO GENERATE RAIN AND POSSIBLE THUNDERSTORMS.

A WIDESPREAD BAND OF RAIN AND WIDELY SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS SHOULD ADVANCE FROM THE WEST THIS EVENING. THIS BAND MIGHT NOT CLEAR SECTIONS OF NORTHERN AND EAST CENTRAL NEW JERSEY UNTIL FRIDAY MORNING. THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING, STORM TOTALS SHOULD AVERAGE ONE TO TWO INCHES, BUT LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS OF UP TO THREE INCHES ARE POSSIBLE. LOCATIONS THAT MAY SEE HIGHER AMOUNTS ARE THOSE IN THE HIGHER TERRAIN OF NORTHEAST PENNSYLVANIA AND NORTHERN NEW JERSEY AND THOSE THAT EXPERIENCE THUNDERSTORMS.

RIVERS AND LARGER STREAMS ARE RUNNING WELL BELOW NORMAL AND SHOULD NOT FLOOD, BUT THERE LIKELY WILL BE URBAN AND POOR DRAINAGE FLOODING. FLOODING OF SOME OF THE SMALLEST STREAMS ALSO IS POSSIBLE. THE HEAVY RAIN MIGHT INTERFERE WITH THE MORNING COMMUTE IN PARTS OF NORTHERN NEW JERSEY. ELSEWHERE, HEAVY RAIN IS EXPECTED TO FALL OVERNIGHT, AFTER THIS EVENING'S COMMUTE IS OVER. THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE WILL CONTINUE TO MONITOR THIS SITUATION CLOSELY.

Bring on Cole. I love the way this team is playing. We'll get a real good idea against the Reds.

Just bought tickets to all three games when they come to play in D.C.
farging idiot D.C. fans were all lovey-dovey with the Nats last year, and totally bailed on them this year. Tickets are available anywhere in the stadium, and are dirt cheap.

I don't see how they're going to get the game in tomorrow.  Look at that mess in the midwest.   :P

Grab it now and put it up on Youtube or something.  I can't host it for long....

Photobucket has video hosting now as well.

Thanks for the hookup, Bigs.

The BIGSTUD

Scott Graham made a great call on it. My friend recorded it, I could get him to send it to me and I could upload it.
Calling it right on the $ since day one.
Just pointing laughing, and living it up while watching the Miami Heat stink it up.

Don Ho

Awesome!  Thanks for the link.

on ESPN, they said that Rowand had been begging the team to put padding on that portion of the fence, for that exact reason.  and in fact, the padding had arrived this week, but the team hadn't installed it yet.

Phillies Management...it's Phantastic!
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

Rowand breaks nose, leaves game for hospital
ESPN.com news services

Aaron Rowand broke his nose and was taken to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital for stitches Thursday night after a fantastic catch knocked him out of Philadelphia's game against the New York Mets.

With two outs and the bases loaded in the first inning, Xavier Nady hit a deep drive off Gavin Floyd to center field that put Rowand on the run.

Rowand made the catch in his outstretched glove as he smacked face-first into the fence and collapsed to the ground. He gamely held up his mitt to show the ball and then rested on his hands and knees as trainers and Phillies manager Charlie Manuel ran out.

Rowand, acquired in the trade that sent Jim Thome to the White Sox, held a towel on his face as he was helped off the field to a standing ovation.

Shane Victorino replaced Rowand in the second inning.

Earlier this season, Rowand requested additional padding be added to the fence. The padding was ordered immediately but did not arrive until a couple days ago. (Rowand had been informed of the progress.) The padding is scheduled to be installed next week.

Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.

Nothing like a 5-inning "complete game" shutout for Floyd.  :yay

If not a game-saver (since it would have probably still been washed out), the catch was certainly a win-saver for the Phils.
