I'm not sure which Eagles writer, maybe Bill Lyon, would end almost every column like that. It got to the point where it was so forced and cliche it had the effect of making the whole article seem like crap.

I don't recall anything written by Bill Lyon being trite or otherwise lame.   He is/was one of the last of the giants of the business.
