the cut off used to be thanksgiving....then about 25 years ago...give or take... that went out the window and shtein started going up anywhere btwn late october and the middle of november

Because the economy stunk during the Reagan years and retailers knew Christmas was the time everyone was spending their cash.  Extend things by a month and it's 4 more weeks of opportunities for people to buy crap they wouldn't normally buy, although I think it's a flawed premise.  I see the stuff up in October but I still wait until after Thanksgiving.  F you retail...

I farging hate the holiday season. I can't even hide my discomfort and displeasure I feel from the week after Halloween until the New Year. I don't know what my problem is, but this time of year makes me cranky as shtein.

I like all the great food that comes with the holidays and getting together with the family. Also, there will be a lot of parties to attend.
