A 20-something clueless immigration officer decided I couldn't go home (to the house I own) and start my new job because she didn't understand how a software lead might also have some project management responsibility.  Therefore, according to her, my position description isn't covered under NAFTA, and so I get to camp out at my sister's until the government decides I'm not stealing a job that has been posted unfilled for over 4 months from the Canadian work force.  10 to 25 days until some government lackey decides "hey, this position is covered by at least 2 different exemptions".

Quick update - while they are still screwing around with the labor market opinion, my Permanent Resident application came through (equivalent of the US green card) so I finally got to go home...a month late.  *grumble*

He would have been better off stalking my 'friend' Jenn Haze.

I opened a facebook account about 6 months ago, and have spent all of 30 minutes on it since then.  I must be too old to get it.

But, I'm all up in Twitter lately.  I follow Jenna Haze... it's fun to read about her getting ready to do a shoot, or writing that she just spent all day eating out Lexi Belle.  And then telling me about it.  I find that cool.

i get violently angry everytime i see that pizza hut toscani commercial where they supposedly go to an italian restaurant in rome and the diners dont know the difference btwn real italian food and pizza hut....they should be sued for false advertising and have their food license taken away forever

Boy, 5, Dragged Away by Crocodile as Brother Watches

An Australian tour guide plunged into a croc-infested swamp in a desperate bid to save his five-year-old son snatched by a 10-foot-long crocodile.

Steve Doble of Queensland, who owns Daintree Rainforest Rivertrain, flung himself into the waist-deep floodwaters Saturday only to find that his youngest boy had vanished.

He was alerted by the screams of his older son Ryan, 7, who had to be treated for shock after witnessing the attack.

Jeremy Doble, 5, is missing and feared dead after he was taken by the crocodile in the swamp behind his family home.

Locals said the "sweet, gentle-natured" child and his older brother were playing on a boogie board as their father fixed a broken boardwalk nearby, The Courier-Mail reported.

The Doble family was too upset to speak publicly about their ordeal Saturday.

"It is just devastating," said long-time local Col Patterson, 44, whose family built and sold the tourist property to the family five years ago.

"Dad jumped in after him, but it was too late," Patterson said. "His older brother saw it all and will, no doubt, be haunted by that image."
