I'll grant your point for the sake of argument, and proceed to say that in the case of government, transparency and accountability are more evident/possible, and the "profits" gained by the enterprise are shared by many, many more people than in the corporate model, where there is no accountability or transparency and a dozen or so people take all the profits.

Essentially, this is the basis of the classic liberal vs. conservative fiscal model.  Who do we trust more?  Private business (which includes Exxon, Haliburton, Wal-Mart and other various groups of iceholes) or a pile of bureaucrats and politicians?

Let's face it, we're farged.  But this is why I want all these entities to have less control over my life.

People forget that private business is supposed to include small businesses and agricultural entities as well. This is where the conservative model has lost its way. They only cater to the largest (richest) companies and have left the small businesses with no one to turn to to support them politically.

The conservative model lost their way by overspending on Star Wars and bombing people.

Bingo.  Eventually (we have to hope), some party will step in to fill that void.  It could be the Democrats (and, if so, they should dominate politics for the next generation), or it could be a viable third party (until one of the other two fade away - the US system traditionally only supports two major parties).

Or, we could just all be screwed.

How many of you have heard Lewis Black? He's hilarious.

He's not actually black, though.  Little-known fact.

Everyone knows Lewis Black.
That's why I said "how many" and not "anyone." It was mainly a way to introduce a comedian topic.

Saw him at the Borgata a couple of years ago. Good stuff. Although his opening act was better, as Black was trying out all new stuff to prepare for his HBO special

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Currently bored, so I'm watching "High Plains Drifter" for maybe the thousandth time on AMC.

They just had an ad for a sound amplifier for the hearing impaired.  I shtein you not, the big selling point was that you could listen in on the neighbors.  What farging idiot adman thought spying would be a good selling point for a hearing aid?
Anyone but Reid.
