espn has hit an all-time low.  this 'who's now' shtein is the most retarded ting ever.

i don't know how they can talk with a straight face.  they just make up this term and then think it's going to stick.  i can barely watch sportscenter anymore because of it.

and why keyshawn, kirk herbstreet and wilbon?  what a bunch of douches.

Agreed. Incredibly farging stupid.

As bad as it is, they're still getting 100's of thousands of votes on each subject. And the next round of judges will include Jessica Beil and Kevin James, obviously as a tie in to their new movie.

It's trial and error on ESPN"s part, they're trying to branch out as just more than sports games and Sportscenter. Yet, the only time it worked was with Playmakers, and they got rid of that because the NFL said so. What ESPN doesn't seem to realize is that all sports fans want is games, Sportscenter, and the Baseball Tonight shows. This other crap is irrelevant.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Exactly.  Stick to the farging highlights... don't take time away from them with this "Who's Now", "Budweiser Hot Seat", "Coors' Hard Facts" or any other bullshtein commercial they pollute the show with.

Sports news and highlights... leave it at that.

i actually like the coors hard facts

my biggest problem with espn is that after a highlite of a particular game is over they dont go to a seperate screen and show the  box score...99% of the time they flash a line at the bottom of the screen with the score and stats of one or two players

The Coors Hard Facts might be cool if they actually bothered to throw some facts in.

Typical question for them would be (in August) "Can Donovan McNabb lead the Eagles to another NFCE title?"  Then Schlereth would say something like "When healthy, Donovan McNabb is one of the best in the game, a great ambassador of the game.  He'll have Brian Westbrook, who had a breakout year last year running the ball and an underrated group of receivers in Reggie Brown and Kevin Curtis... and Andy Reid is one of the best coaches in the league so I think they'll be in the mix for the NFC East title."

In other words, a whole lot of nothing.  It (and the other sponsored segments) are nothing but commercials right in the middle of their program.  Then like you said, they'll follow that 5 minutes with a 2 play wrap-up of the Eagles game with the score on the lower third font.

I've got no problem with augmenting the show with some insightful segments that actually show me something, but again... when they use these "billboards" to eat up half of their show... it's annoying as hell.  Too much flash... no substance.

I honestly can't remember the last time I've sat down and watched an entire episode of SC from start to finish.  Unless I'm watching an actual sporting event or one of the specialized shows (Baseball Tonight, etc) then I don't even turn on ESPN anymore.  I usually just get my sports news and scores for the day from ESPN news.  It's short, sweet and to the point.

well it depends on who the guest is...schlereth is a talking head nobody but if they have john clayton on for the nfl andy katz for cbb or mcshay/herbie for cfb then you can get a lot of inside info and the segment becomes really good
