I've heard of that story before but it's far from being one of the most fascinating unsolved mysteries out there.  A man disappearing in the mountains of the pacific nw in the 70's isn't all that exciting.  The only thing that makes it remotely interesting is that it's the only unsolved airplane hijacking in US history.  And the fact that he bought a plane ticket for $20.  That's pretty cool too.

he hijacked a jetliner and then escaped by parachuting out of it....thats pretty much as interesting and unbelievble as it gets

The dude hijacks a jetliner, convinces the FBI to give him $200k and some parachutes and to let the plane take back off and head towards Mexico. He jumps out of a jetliner and disappears with the ransom money and is never heard of again.

Yeah. Not interesting at all.

Whats the name of the documentary, Havas?

Sgt PSN

He hijacked a plane in the 70's when hijacking a plane was relatively easy to do.  So was disappearing into thin air.  Much easier than today.

It's a cool story, but I find stories like the Zodiac Killings, The Gardner Art Museum, Black Dahlia, Jimmy Hoffa to be much more interesting.

i think its called flight from justice

btw its the only unsolved plane hijacking in the history of the world...it cant be underestimated how hard it is to hijack a jetiner and not be caught or killed...this cat did it

I guesss it's just because most of the details of the crime itself are all there....out of the 5 W's, the only real unknown is the "Who" and I'm more fascinated with unsolved crimes that are more lacking in information.  The crime itself is great....like out of a movie or something.  I just don't find it to be overly fascinating in comparison to some other unsolved crimes.

Diomedes

we don't know he did it, if I remember correctly

for all we know he died and simply wasn't found...right?

Well, someone did it.  Just don't know who it actually was.  The guy could be dead, but I'd imagine that if he died a while ago or even during his escape, then there probably wouldn't be a new lead like this in the case.

Im not an MMA/UFC fan, but I was at a birthday party yesterday and Rolles (pronounced Harris) Gracie was there - I never heard of him, but I was told he comes from a legendary MMA family and he's a good fighter himself..
