Prepositions and Grammar

On his 74th birthday, a man got a gift certificate from his wife. The certificate  paid for a visit to a medicine man living on a nearby reservation who was  rumored to have a wonderful cure for erectile dysfunction.

After being persuaded, he drove to the reservation, showed his gift certificate to the medicine man and wondered what he was in for.

The old medicine man slowly, methodically produced a potion, handed it to him, and with a grip on his shoulder, warned, "This is powerful medicine and it must be respected. You take only a teaspoonful and then say '1-2-3'. When you do that, you will become more manly than you have ever been in your life and you can  perform as long as you want."

The man was encouraged.  As he walks away, he turned and asked, "How do I stop the medicine from working?"

"Your partner must say  '1-2-3-4,' he responded.  "But when she does, the medicine will not work again  until the next full moon."

He was very eager to see if it worked so he went home, showered, shaved, took a spoonful of the  medicine, and then invited his wife to join him in the bedroom.

When she came in, he took off his clothes and said, "1-2-3!"  Immediately, he was the manliest of men.  His wife was excited and began throwing off her clothes. And then she asked, "What was the 1-2-3  for?"

And that, boys and girls, is why we should never end our sentences with a preposition, because we could end up with a dangling participle.

So I traded in my Blackberry a few days ago for that new Droid Incredible. Holy farg, the phone kicks ass. I've never had an iPhone before, but people say that the latest version pales in comparision to the the Incredible..This phones gets me to thinking how much more technologically advanced can the next model of phone be?? The speed is ridiculous and  the overlook look and functionality has to be best in its class. It's been a long time since I have kept a phone for more than a few months..this phone shall break that mold.

the HTC Evo came out for Sprint today, which is just like that Droid I believe, just Sprint's version.  I want to check it out but they say the battery dies really quick because of all the stuff.  you having that problem with yours?

my battery is fine on the DROID, but if you run a shteinload of Widgets they do eat up the battery.

I actually drove out to Harrisburg from Central NJ yesterday and the battery died on my way there - and that was after charging it all night. I'm not sure why that happened, but I charged it when I got home and it seemed fine afterwards. There is an app called "advanced task killer" which will shut down all your apps and increase speed and battery life.

That Sprint phone was on the back page of Philly Magazine..from the looks of it, it is exactly the same phone only w the 4G network as opposed to 3G..so I guess it would be even faster which quite frankly, is scary.

yeah, stupid me, i just upgraded my contract a few months ago.  i wonder if they have any special deals trying to get people to buy this one.

Battery life is a problem for all smartphones, even/especially the iPhone.  The thing about most phones which is a major detractor of the iPhone is that you can charge a 2nd battery and swap mid-day if needed.

DH - If the phone is that new, the battery isn't fully broken in yet.  Should be better in a few days.

The Andriod OS really is the next big thing - going to put the iPhone and the BlackBerry (for personal use) on major notice.  Open source just allows for so much more possibilities.  The other phones won't be able to keep up with features because they are closed systems.  I may end up picking up an Evo to replace my Tour.

DH

Doubtful..I'm on Verizon and I know you can't get this phone at any Verizon within 50 miles of my house. If you want one, you have to pre-order and Verizon says you will have it by June 22nd. Evidently, HTC didn't make enough of them for Verizon and I'm sure they made that same mistake re: Sprint.

Is there truth to that? I went into 2 different Verizons yesterday out in H'Burg and one guy told me just that but the other said there could be a problem w the battery itself.
