QuotePARIS - Somali pirates in two skiffs fired on a French navy vessel early Wednesday after apparently mistaking it for a commercial boat, the French military said.

The French ship gave chase and captured five suspected pirates.

...and then surrendered to the Somalis.

My girl left today to go back to Peru for a month. She also has to re-do her visa while she is there. There's a small chance they could deny her, but since she is doing it the right way (not overstaying and paying the US their extortion money, better know as all the fees associated with it) I think everything will be cool.

I'm pissed I can't go. I was supposed to go later this month for a week, but I can't take time off work.

Not well enough.

I'd love to learn, but I'm not shelling out 300+ bucks on the Rosetta Stone program nor do I have time to go take classes.

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Thought of trying this but haven't yet, so I can't vouch for it, but you might be interested.

If you do, let me know what you think. I know someone moving to Panama, and I may want to go visit her.

Just begin every fifth word with "el" and you'll get by.

I can get those, too. How are they?

probably more effective if i had the time to log on more consistantly to them.  we access them through a secure site that reads certificates in our id cards to access the courses so i can only log on while i'm at work.  when i get enough time to log on for 3 or more hours during a week, i do feel like i'm actually learning something though.  but if i'm busy, which is a lot lately, then it's really not worth it for me to log on because i'll end up doing that lesson over again.  i could buy a card reader and plug it into my home computer and take the courses at night or on weekends but i'm too cheap to fork over $20.

if your daily schedule allows you consistant time to do it, then it would most def be worth the effort.  of course, the biggest obstacle with trying to learn a new language isn't really the method used to teach it......it's being able to apply it.  in other words, don't try and learn russian if you don't have anyone you can practice speaking it with.
