My wife and kid were watching some show about a couple with like six kids or something and the husband was whining about the kids not listening to him about jumping on the bed.

I walked through and sort of said under my breath, "well maybe they'd listen to you if you beat their asses occasionally instead of arguing with them over it."

My wife laughed and my daughter didn't.

i do the thing where i tell my kids to do something, and if they don't listen, i count to five.  each of them have tested me and gotten to five once...and haven't since
