AFTER HIS second physical altercation with a co-worker in four months, 610 WIP's Mike Missanelli was fired yesterday by the sports-talk station.
Sources say Missanelli, 50, hit part-time WIP producer Brian Robbins after the two men argued during a live remote broadcast Friday at Brownie's 23 East (23 E. Lancaster Ave.) in Ardmore.
Station bossMarc Rayfieldconfirmed that Missanelli had been terminated, but offered no further comment. By 7 last night all mentions of Missanelli had been yanked from 610WIP.com.
Missanelli was absent yesterday from the daytime show he had been co-hosting with Anthony Gargano. Reached yesterday afternoon, Missanelli told us the day off was scheduled and he denied being involved in a physical altercation on Friday.
"I am unaware of any altercation," Missanelli repeated several times during a five-minute chat.
Robbins, who sources say is in his 20s, could not be reached for comment last night.
Missanelli, a former Inqwaster reporter who holds a law degree from Widener, worked at WIP from 1992 to 2003, then left to work at 93.3 WMMR-FM. He was fired in April 2004, 14 months into a two-year contract, and returned to WIP last June.
In December, we reported that Missanelli had grabbed morning host Angelo Cataldiduring an on-air argument in the WIP studio. Missanelli denied that it had gotten physical; Cataldi would not discuss it.

the reason i liked mikey miss is that he was just a regular cat who had very strong opinions...you could see yourself sitting at a table playing cards with him and talking sports music movies politics whatever...and you also could see yourself coming over that same table and choking him...not much different than me and any of my friends
