What was best about Minny's pass rush is that they were getting to Romo using just four guys even when Dallas would have 5,6 and even 7 guys back blocking.

Don Ho

Only thing that bummed me out was that Minnesota didn't attempt an onside kick after that last touchdown.

I just saw Jason Witten trying to block Jared Allen on NFL Network. HA! Laughable.

Wade Phillips has slightly less long-term security than we originally thought.

Initial reports about his contract extension said he was signed through 2012.  It turns out the deal only goes through 2011.

The confusion came because of a removed option year for 2012, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.  The deal was originally drawn up with the option, but at the last moment the final year was taken out.

Anderson charged with deadly conduct
Dallas Cowboys fullback Deon Anderson was charged with misdemeanor deadly conduct Wednesday after he allegedly threatened a restaurant employee with a loaded gun during a dispute early Tuesday morning.

According to an Addison, Texas, police report, off-duty police officers working at the BlackFinn restaurant in Addison were alerted that a man was in the parking lot with a gun. The arrest affidavit stated the restaurant's parking valet, who filed a criminal complaint, said Anderson retrieved a handgun from the car and threatened him with it.

Police who were called to the scene retrieved a gun from the shrubs and discovered it was loaded, with a round chambered. It was one of two weapons confiscated at the scene, and Anderson's car was impounded due to the arrest.

Anderson, 27, faces a sentence of up to a year in jail and a fine up to $4,000 for the misdemeanor deadly conduct charge.

After police responded to the scene early Tuesday, Anderson was arrested on traffic warrants issued by the city of Irving, according to the Addison police report. He was booked into the Addison jail Tuesday morning and transferred to an Irving jail, from which he was released after posting bond.

Anderson's 25-year-old brother, Devon, also was arrested at the scene on charges of public intoxication.

Deon Anderson did not respond to ESPNDallas.com on Wednesday for a comment about the arrest warrant. Cowboys officials said Tuesday night they were looking into the incident and did not respond for comment Wednesday regarding the arrest warrant.

On Tuesday, Anderson told ESPNDallas.com his car wouldn't start after he used valet parking and wanted to know why. Anderson said he didn't put his hands on anybody or use profanity.

NFL spokesperson Greg Aiello said the NFL always looks into any incidents involving arrests with a player to determine possible discipline.

QuoteMichael Irvin accused of rape
Posted by Mike Florio on February 4, 2010 10:45 PM ET
Former Cowboys receiver Michael Irvin is back in Florida this week as part of the pre-Super Bowl festivities.  He's broadcasting his ESPN Radio Dallas show from the Media Center in Fort Lauderdale, and like many of the former players milling about Radio Row he looks like he could still suit up and go right now.

But any sense of celebration has been tempered by the news that a civil suit alleging sexual assault has been filed against Irvin.  According to the Miami Herald, Irvin allegedly raped a woman at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.

A decision on whether criminal charges will be pursued is pending.

The alleged incident occurred in July 2007, a month before he gave a stirring speech upon entry into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Irvin, through his lawyer, denies the allegations, calling them "totally untrue."

The action comes after negotiations on a financial settlement stalled.  The woman reportedly wanted $1 million, then dropped her demand to $800,000.

"This complaint is tantamount to criminal extortion,'' attorney Larry Friedman told the Herald.  "There is no merit to the complaint.''

Though it's rare for anyone to admit to engaging in criminal conduct, Irvin is entitled to the presumption of innocence in a court of law.

In the court of public opinion, Irvin's history might work against him.  But he seems to have changed his ways, so he merits in our view the benefit of the doubt.

Move over Deon Anderson, we got us a new sheriff in town.

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

QuoteIn an effort to go mainstream, ExtenZe hires Jimmy Johnson
Posted by Mike Florio on February 5, 2010 10:17 PM ET
"Bob" is no longer smiling.  The star of the Enzyte commercials will be trumped by an ExtenZe marketing campaign featuring a man with a more appropriate name.

Johnson.

Yes, the male-enhancement supplement company has hired former NFL coach and current FOX personality Jimmy Johnson to help hawk its product, as part of a $150 million push to make ExtenZe a mass-market product.

Though the commercials won't be seen during the Super Bowl, Johnson will be appearing on television sets throughout America as of Monday.

"Most men want to perform the best they can in just about everything," he says in one of the spots, according to Advertising Age.  "Isn't that why we buy the biggest and best of everything?"

He reportedly closes the commercial by saying, "Go long with ExtenZe.  I do."

I put it in this thread because, as the old saying goes, once a small penised cowboy, always a small penised cowboy.
