A team's season isn't won or lost on WR's alone. Our offense now compared to 2000-2003 is IMPROVED. The WR's are BETTER (Reggie+Gaffney+Pinkston > Thrash+Pinkston+Freddie), the TE is a better pass catcher, the RB is more versitile (With a good back up just like him, and the hopeful return of C-Buck or an addition in the draft/FA), and a McNabb with more years of expierence under his belt.

I'm telling you yes we can make the playoffs. Can we make to the Super Bowl? sure.

The key is NOT the WR's on this team. It is the DEFENSE. the DEFENSE needs to play at a high level for this team to succeed, not the WR's. (See 2000-2003). The offense can hold its own with what its got.

If they add Moulds, sure I'lll be happy with it. I kind of want them too, even though it means Gaffney will basically be signed here for no reason, but I'll take Moulds over Gaffney in the short run. Moulds/Brown/Gaffney/Pinkston/Greg Lewis is a great WR core.
Brown/Gaffney/Pinkston/G. Lew/McMullen or whoever the #5 will be is an average WR core. and with a TE like Smith, who was on pace for a GREAT year until McNabb got hurt, and RB's like Westbrook and Moats, I'm confident that this offense will do what it needs to do to win.

The defense has to hold up its end now.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Eagles | Reid discusses Moulds
Wed, 29 Mar 2006 18:51:37 -0800

Bob Brookover, of the Philadelphia Inquirer, reports Philadelphia Eagles head coach Andy Reid said the team has looked at Buffalo Bills WR Eric Moulds. He said the team is going through an evaluation process right now.
Calling it right on the $ since day one.
Just pointing laughing, and living it up while watching the Miami Heat stink it up.

Quoteif the Eagles thought WR was that big a necessity don't you think they would have addressed it beyond signing Gaffney to a 1 year deal?

SD, I don't think this is necessarily true, especially this offseason.  With the nature of the market due to the new CBA I think most FA (particularly WR's) got way overpaid.  Knowing the Eagles history, they will not overpay for a player, which this offseason would have forced them to do.

Sigh... good ol' WIP.

Whenever someone on ESPN or the Inquirer releases a story, WIP is skeptical, but when another host on there breaks a rumor, they are all over it's like it's gospel.

Glen Macnow is on right now basically acting like Moulds to Houston is a done deal because Gargano reported it.

and Gargano may be right, but I don't see it anywhere else yet.

Fellas, with Andy Reid announcing today that Gaffney will line up as  the slot receiver and Reggie Brown "did a nice job last season, and he needs to continue to watch McNabb throw this offseason and develop with Donovan McNabb", does it really sound like a #1 receiver is set? Absolutely not. This to me tells it all that we will get a #1.

The Moulds rumor is false....so far

The only mention Texans fans have heard of it?

From WIP.

::) ::) ::)

Im just shocked that Moulds would want to go there and be #2 receiver behind Johson...come here and be a #1. I know these players are greedy but sometimes pride takes over......I stress sometimes

That's fine, the initial question posed was whether or not the Eagles were stupid enough to go into the season with the WR position as it stands. I say yes, because they don't see it as a big a defecit as the fans do.

 :-D

Glen just talked to a guy from Houston and said something along the lines of "enjoy Moulds there, you'll like him paired with Bush."

If Gargano turns out to be wrong, it's going to make WIP look foolish for talking like it's basically a done deal. Then they'll cover it up like they do with all their embarassments.

I hate the radio station, the only reason it's on right now is I'm too lazy to get up and turn it off.

Have I mentioned that the approximate probability of them getting Moulds OR Walker is about 32%?

You're WAAAY low.  I was thinking more like roughly 37.83926423812223441123374524832695110541085.

PoopyfaceMcGee

I'm using the assumption that there is a 20% shot of getting Moulds and a 15% shot of getting Walker.

Then again, since the chances of getting both of them are 0, the odds of getting one are actually 29%, not 32%.

ice grillin you

wip is still reporting that hes comes to terms on a contract with the texans....gargano is obviously 100% sure of it...just a matter of time before the trade is worked out
