Eckel is a complete hack and should probably be fired for the error he made.

Only Eckel reported that it was an absolute done deal.  Others reported that a visit was scheduled and a contract was thought to be imminent.  Eckel wanted so badly to be the first to report the completed deal that he jumped the gun.
