Hopefully he's McMullen's replacement and not TO's....

I find it funny how for every player they have some garbage reason not to like them or want them, but they always seem to have room in the house for some cheap talent. That they love.

Maybe this is only one WR signing. Maybe we will sign another, and cut McMullen.

I hear they are going to sign back James Thrash again too  :-X

1999 - 18 catches 318 yards 17.7 YPC 1 TD
2000 - 24 catches 272 yards 11.3 ypc 1 TD
2001 - 51 catches 706 yards 13.8 YPC 3 TDs
2002 - 37 catches 423 yards 11.4 YPC 4 TDs
2003 - 12 catches 118 yards 9.8 YPC 2 TDs
2004 - 27 catches 333 yards 12.3 YPC 2 TDs
2005 - 55 catches 694 yards 12.6 YPC 10 TDs

Finneran career: 187 catches 2647 yards 14.2 YPC 15 TDs
Jurevicius career: 233 catches 3010 yards 12.9 YPC 23 TDs

Jurevicius was like Finneran last year. He was kind of just " a guy" out there in FA. He went to a strong passing team and became their go to guy in the red zone and on 3rd downs. He had a very nice season. Many Eagle fans wanted him to sign here this offseason.

Finneran hasn't played in a true passing offense. Why couldn't he do for us what Jurevicius did for SEA?

Go compare Joe Jurevicius and Brian Finneran.

Do it.

This isn't too bad, guys. They are essentially the same player

Except the Finneran is known to drop balls, and JJ is clutch for keeping the ball in his hands ala vs the Eagles

Finneran had 3 drops with 81 balls thrown his way last year
Jurevicius had 2 drops with 84 balls thrown his way last year

The BIGSTUD

For one, Jurevicius was like my 5th choice at receiver.

I'd take Givens, Bryant, Randle El, Lloyd over him.

I didn't even want Jurevicius all that much. He's slow.

Brown
Pinkston
Finneran
Lewis
draft pick

That would be my guess. Unless they somehow get Givens.

MDS

ehhhh need to see more. like another running back. but i guess they are really high on reggie. sure up both lines and the need for a TO type replacement isnt so prevelant.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Eagles_Legendz

I'm not saying Finneran and Joe are dissimilar, but I wasn't exactly calling for Jurevicious either.  This WR corps needs more help than a mediocre slot receiver.

I wouldn't mind this move if it was a compliment to others we were making.  But Finneran and a backup TE?  Those are moves to add depth, not to improve the starting lineup, which is what we need.

phillywin2k5

one thing i do see happening is all of those teams ahead of the Eagles in the draft have either bought a RB or resigned their own.

As a side note, how do they plan on having enough money for the draft after splooging it all on Finneran and Schobel?  Cap hell here we come!   :evil

I'm usually what could be deemed a FO apologist, but this has been a disgrace thus far.

Eagles must be planning on paying 1/3 of each season ticket holders payment with the windfall they saved in Free Agency this year

NFL | Bernard to make an undisclosed visit
Sun, 12 Mar 2006 22:15:20 -0800

Danny O'Neil, of the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, reports free agent DT Rocky Bernard (Seahawks) has a visit scheduled for the upcoming week, but his agent's office has declined to disclose his travel plans.

I know the rumor out there is that it's the Giants, but MAYBE, just MAYBE it's the Eagles.

QuoteThe Giants also called the agent for defensive tackle Rocky Bernard (Seahawks) on Saturday, but Bernard has scheduled a visit for another team, said Steve Caric, a spokesman for his agent, Gary Uberstine. Caric would not say which team Bernard was to visit.
