Quote"I think they will address the offensive line in free agency. I've heard they are real high on LeCharles Bentley and Steve Hutchinson. Both of those guys are premier offensive linemen. Bentley is a tough guy who won't back down from anyone. Some of his battles against the best guys in the league are legendary and he knocked out a guy in college. Hutchinson, who went to my high school, may be the best offensive lineman available. The only problem with him is he has a transition tag, so the Seahawks can match any offer."

This would be a nice pick-up if they cannot land Hutchinson. Bentley would probably play LG here and not C.

I thought Bentley really wanted to stay at Center, though.  Oh well.  He's a good player.

Hutchinson>>>>Bentley

In all honesty I wouldn't complain if we got either.

The BIGSTUD

I'd rather have Hutchinson, but either would be a great addition.
Calling it right on the $ since day one.
Just pointing laughing, and living it up while watching the Miami Heat stink it up.

So, let me get this straight:  According to pro football writers out there, the Eagles are interested in acquiring roughly every free agent with the exception of T.O.

Is that about right?

No, they're looking at free agents at positions already filled.  They're not looking for LBs, DL, or OT.

I half expect someone to come up with a rumor that the Eagles are going after Adam Vinatieri at this point... seriously.

I don't really care if the team gets Bentley but getting stud linemen never hurts. Now if they would just run the ball occasionally we'd really be getting somewhere.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

Holy shtein, are you serious?  The Eagles are going after Vinatieri?  I gotta call WIP!

I was hoping the Eagles would have drafted Bentley when he first came in the league.  Could put him at center and slide Jamaal out to guard.

Jamaal might get a shot at LG and/or RT if the Eagles signed someone like Bentley, but he'd more likely be a backup.

QuoteEagles Keep An Eye On The Jets

By Chuck Hixson

Date: Feb 28, 2006

The Eagles are watching for the Jets to see which way they go on their offensive line. Plus, there are a couple of free agents that the Eagles have various levels of interest in talking to once the free agency signing period officially arrives.

According to a league source with knowledge of the situation, the Eagles have a close eye on what the New York Jets will do with C Kevin Mawae who has turned down a pay cut. Mawae has a cap value of over $4 million which the team wants to reduce. If Mawae is cut loose, look for the Eagles to make a run at signing him. If they do wind up signing him, that would likely mean the end to veteran C Hank Fraley who has one season left on his contract.
Fraley and Jamaal Jackson figured on engaging in a battle for the starting job in camp, but if Mawae does wind up with the Eagles, Jackson will have to find other ways to get into the lineup.

The Eagles have a passing interest in Seattle Seahawks DT Rocky Bernard but according to a team source, they're concerned that he may be a one-year wonder and likely won't pursue him.

They have a much stronger interest in Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antwaan Randle El but want to see what his market price will be so they may wait a little bit after the free agency period begins to make him an offer.
