Before I left Active Duty, I was driving around in a Government vehicle, on official business, in uniform, and was involved in a minor accident on base. Base police as well as my ships legal department told me not to disclose any personal information since I was covered by the Navy.  I did a follow up with Legal before I left and they said it was being handled.

Nearly 4 farging months go by, and tonight the guys insurance company calls me. They're asking me for my personal information and threatening to get my license suspended if I don't disclose it (I basically told them to farg off).

And to make matters worse my old ship is deployed so I can't even call the fargers right now. Most I could do is send them an email and pray that they respond.

You should get the guy's address and burn his house down. That'd teach him.

I gotta vent too.

I was out with some friends Friday night and met some hot girl. So I'm talking to her, her hot friend, and her hot mom and apparently bought them enough shots that she thought it would be a good idea to put my number into her cell phone. Right after she puts it in she calls so I would have hers. My phone starts vibrating in my pocket so I say, "sweet now I got your number too", but I didn't verify this.

So now all I have is her first name and the knowledge she's getting her MBA from Drake. I'm about to e-mail the six girls that share her first name, but am afraid that might be stupid.

Damn me.

You were hitting on a girl while she was out drinking with her mom? Was this 'bar' actually someone's double wide in the trailer park down the street or what?

No, jerkstore.

It was a bar called Martini's. It's actually a pretty classy joint, and her mom wasn't drinking anything except coke or water. I, conversely, was drinking copious amounts of beer and liquor. I'm sure a lesser man would have died.

Good job. I don't think you're under any obligation to talk to them (unless there is a court order, of course). In fact, it's in your best interest to not talk to them personally.

Okay, thanks.  :yay I wasn't too sure if I was obligated to or not.

Who is his insurance company?

And I would've done what you did too. Farg 'em. Tell them to call Uncle Sam. They'll get their money in 6-8 years.

And if a chick is out drinking with her Mom, that is a questionable move. That means they like to take home guys and make a mother daughter sammich with the unsuspecting gentleman. And normally I'd be giving you props, but I've never seen a hot momma-daughter combo trolling for trouser trout. And by getting her MBA means getting her GED. :)

Mother-daughter porn sites are the bestest.

When driving in a government vehicle in your work capacity, you are covered by the government's insurance and not your own.  You are correct in stating that you don't have to give them your personal carrier (even if they are both USAA).  Shouldn't the navy base have a legal department you can refer them to or do you have to send it to the ship's legal?

I sent it to the ships legal department and supposedly it's being 'handled'.  :-\

Then all you have to do is tell them that you're out of the loop, and any information they need should come from the ship's legal department.
