who farging cares about the money?  farging joe banner wipes his ass with hundred dollar bills, that's how much money they have under the cap.  you have to pay to get quality.  when you don't pay a lot, you get what you had last year, no fumbles, no sacks, no impact.
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

The Seahawks would appear to have knee-jerked after getting Hutchinson ripped from them.  I don't think Peterson is worth anything near that money, but options are limited if the Eagles actually want plays made from LB position.  Personally, I think they secretely want to keep Dhani for this year.

BTW, Dhani, Simoneau, and Pinkston are all in the top 10 on the team in 2006 salary.

That's a ton of money...but I wish it was the Eagles who overspent it on him.  We could have used that guy....and it's not like there will be a ton of moves to make with this boatload of caproom.

as long as we can say we have the most money saved in the nfl i'll be happy.

i mean, it's probably smarter to save it and accrue interest than it is to invest it in quality players anyway.  I hear ING Direct is having a special 4.9% interest special in 2006.

Seahawks | Team reaches agreement with Peterson
Mon, 20 Mar 2006 20:56:05 -0800

Adam Schefter, of the NFL Network, reports the Seattle Seahawks have reached an agreement with free agent LB Julian Peterson to a seven-year contract worth $54 million. The deal includes $18.5 million in guarantees, including $10 million for the 2006 season.

and then there was one...(Arrington)

Totally ridiculous contract by the way. He is not worth that kind of money.

Doesn't matter.  The Seahawks just got better, he's going to make plays for them and every opponent they play with have to deal with his abilities on the field.

Abraham to Atlanta in a 3 team trade.

FOXSports.com has learned that the Falcons, Broncos and Jets swung a three-way trade Tuesday in order to make the deal happen that would get Abraham to the Falcons. The deal has been approved by the league, but the parties are all waiting for the Jets to sign the trade papers and make it official.

In the trade, the Falcons send their first-round pick (No. 15 overall) to the Broncos, and Denver turns around and sends its first-round pick (No. 29) and a third-rounder in this year's draft plus a fourth-round pick in 2007 to Atlanta. The Falcons then send that 29th overall pick in the draft to the Jets for Abraham. The Jets thus receive a draft pick two slots higher in the first round than the Seahawks were able to offer in their quest to land Abraham.

Math time:

2003 Eagles give up #30 and a 2nd-rd pick to jump to #15
2004 Eagles give up #28 and a 2nd-rd pick to jump to #16
2006 Broncos give up #29, a 3rd and a 4th to jump to #15

So a late 2nd round pick is basically worth a 3 and a 4?

farg i hate free agency this year.  howard was key, but the rest is just ridiculous.  the $ these players are getting is over the top.   there were some really good players out there too, especially on defense.  i really wish we would of gotten a solid LB, AKA, Peterson.

Free Agency is over....bring on the draft
