Dawkins done?

According to TV next season will be #20's last with the Birds.

Vincent said he "thinks" that last year "could be" Dawks last season in Philly because he will be a UFA.

It is 2006, not 2007. Why talk about this now? They'll have a chance to re-sign him in the future. More important things to deal with now.

Troy Vincent was in town for the Philadelphia Sports Writers Awards. Derek Gun was interviewing Troy and Troy said that he believes that next year is Dawkins' last with the Eagles because his contract is up.

I thought there was some confusion to his contract status, what's the deal?

Vincent needs to keep his mouth shut on things he has no clue about.

Last time he opened his mouth, he said the window was closed on the Eagles...then they proceeded to go to the Super Bowl the first season without him.

he sounded bitter about the way the Eagles let him walk, he took a shot at them without really saying anything negative.

in fairness to troy he was only one year off...and the same people who said the window wasnt closed also had the birds back in the superbowl this year

He didn't want to give the Eagles a hometown discount, which is fair, but I think he thought he was going to get more--I believe the Bills gave him a 3M bonus, and that WAS AFTER 11 OTHER FA CBs had signed. Bobby Taylor was the last FA corner signed that year, with Seattle. He wanted something more comparable with what he made in his last year in Philly, which was 4.5M. However, I guess I'd sound bitter if I left and the team I left went to the Super Bowl, and the NEXT YEAR, two players that I played with for a few years, eventually got the ring, while I'm (Vincent) is stuck in rebuilding mode in Buffalo.
