If the Niners take a third and a fourth for the dude, they gotta be high. While Lloyd isn't a gamebreaker, he's worth more than that IMO. Something like that has gotta involve more compensation.

The funny part is that Brandon Lloyd is hardly proven and that the taterskins will have to give him pretty damn big dollars because he's so full of himself.  So, he's like a draft pick, only much more costly.

QuoteSome of you people need to give up this notion that draft picks are so "valuable". Give me a proven player anyday then some media hype on a guy who plays for a big school against 2-3 tough teams per year. How's that Taylor Jacobs 2nd rounder and Gardner as a 1st, etc., etc. Look at every year's 1st round picks and see how many busts there are. The percentage of busts is much higher; believe me

Hell, just trade all of the picks away.

Snyder has brainwashed those Romes.

They just don't get it, do they?  Has it ever occured to them that a major reason why the Skins are always having cap problems is because Danny boy spends so much money on high priced veterans?  And look where it's gotten them.  1 playoff appearance in 7 years.  Maybe if they'd spend their time developing young players and singing them to long term deals when they're still young and relatively cheap (Pats/Eagles) and then use free agency to fill a key hole or two they may actually be able to compete on a consistant basis.

This isn't rocket science, it's common sense.

QuoteBeyond that, the taterskins are reportedly interested in trading for Lloyd, who led the 49ers in receptions last year. A source close to Lloyd said Washington was prepared to offer a third-round choice this season and a fourth rounder in next year's draft. Lloyd, who apparently has been secretly seeking a trade, expected the deal to be completed

Pointing and laughing.

I wouldn't say he is hardly proven, the guy was the only bright spot on offense for the Niners the last two years.

Like I said, he's not a go-to type reciever, and solid #1, but he does have skills, he is worth more than just a three and a four next year.

Brandon Lloyd, other than being a horrible rapper (do a search in this forum, its posted and its pretty zesty) is a guy who makes a great catch and then pisses away the easy ones. Plus he has attitude problems.

But hey...Big Art already has a highlight video of him pinned at ES. So he's already thinking of ways of spinning Lloyd's icehole attitude and the fact that he isn't reliable and likes to piss off his coaches and teammates.

Lloyd's the type of player that I would love to have on the Eagles because he's an extremely gifted player.  But, since he does lack focus on the field and has some attitude problems, I wouldn't trade anything more than a Coke and a smile for him.

MDS

Well, obviously when he meets Coach Joe Gibbs his attitude will change. He will come in and love playing for Coach Gibbs and will be an elite reciever. Thats what happens when you play for a 3 time Superbowl winning Hall of Fame coach.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

You really think you're getting all 4 of those guys?  Really?

Also, you probably should kill yourself and improve the world's average intelligence by a couple of points.

Clayton apparently reported that the Skins will pay Lloyd a $10M SB.

If they pay him $10M, it will be hilarious.

I also heard it was for 5 years and 10 Mil in total. WTF knows!

His upside is huge.

There's no way he signs a deal for that little over 5 years.

Quotetaterskins | Lloyd trade done
Sat, 11 Mar 2006 15:56:29 -0800

Greg Beacham, of the Associated Press, reports the San Francisco 49ers have traded restricted free agent WR Brandon Lloyd to the Washington taterskins for the taterskins' third-round pick in this year's NFL Draft and their fourth-round selection in 2007

HA. HA.

At least we can always point and laugh at the taterskins for being complete fargups.
