Prolonged success in the NFL now requires forethought, solid drafting and fiscal intelligence. [/size]
So signing Campbell to be the QB of the future wasn't forward looking?
Getting rid of Coles for Moss not financially responsible?  as well as not over paying for Pierce or Smoot?
And all the draft picks are there except Wilson.  They saw enough in Cooley to trade up for him, which turned out to be a great move.
Taylor instead of KWII was the right choice, played extremely well in his 2nd year.
Rogers instead of Mike Williams turned out great.
I think you people see what you want to see and that's it.

oh yeah 'close but no cigar' fargers

according to the " adjustment" runyan is slated to make 30 MILLION on the 4 year contract.notice the word adjustment?money was re arranged not CUT.he got all of his money and that was nice of him to do so the eagles could go 6-10 and still be 15 million under the cap.try spending some of your cap money and get some depth so when your starters go down, your season doesnt end

QuoteLong before the Eagles arrived at training camp and shortly after Terrell Owens and agent Drew Rosenhaus announced their desire to rework the receiver's contract, offensive tackle Jon Runyan quietly took an $800,000 pay cut for this season. He did so with little attention and no complaint.
-- Philadelphia Inquirer

QuoteWith the focus of the media entirely on T.O., a small story appeared in the paper last week that didn't get much attention at all. Eagles offensive tackle Jon Runyan quietly took an $800,000 pay cut this season - without complaint or media circus.

QuoteSo signing Campbell to be the QB of the future wasn't forward looking?

Idiot. You traded away part of your draft last year and this year's #1 for a Qb you could have gotten in the second round last year because no one else wanted him. Brilliant.

QuoteGetting rid of Coles for Moss not financially responsible?  as well as not over paying for Pierce or Smoot?

Do you think that Moss will really put up those kind of numbers next year? or ever again? This is an honest question because I'll tell you what, I don't see how you could possibly expect him to do that again. Getting rid of Smoot was fine this year, but Springs is old and Rogers isn't at Smoot's level yet. You might want to reserve judgement on that move for another year or so. Pierce was a beast this year for the Giants and helped their defense improve by leaps and bounds in the second half of the season. Skins should have kept him.

QuoteAnd all the draft picks are there except Wilson.  They saw enough in Cooley to trade up for him, which turned out to be a great move.
It's easy to keep your draft picks when you only have 3 per year.

QuoteTaylor instead of KWII was the right choice, played extremely well in his 2nd year.
Everyone and their mother knew that Taylor was the right pick. The only reason KWII was even considered was because people know the Skins well enough to know that at any given time they could go for the hype instead of what makes sense. Of course, now Taylor is facing 46 years in prison so good job with that.

QuoteRogers instead of Mike Williams turned out great.
See the response above.
