The statue is historically inaccurate, as he never ran on the field holding up a #1 on his finger - occasionally holding up a fist, however.

I'm sure that's why it's fraudulent, yes?

Temple will always have an inferiority complex when it comes to Penn State.

MDS

not even close

we are in philly and therefore better than a insulated community in the MA mountains of PA that revolves around a mediocre football team

but yes psu football >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> temple football and because of that i will always hate them. you punch up. its the reason the nationals hate the phillies even though the phillies dont care about the nationals. until they lose to them. like this year. wink, wink.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Early reports are that Joe was holding kids down while Sandusky farged them. Sad :(

QuoteTo this point, Joe Paterno is the only person who publicly acknowledged that with the benefit of hindsight he wished he had done more. This was an honest and courageous admission that a true leader must assume a measure of responsibility when something goes wrong on his watch.

The Paterno family is doing as masterful a job with the press as Joe Amendola was.

(If you are slow on the uptake, I'm saying that they should shut up.)

Quote"The evidence shows that these four men also knew about a 1998 criminal
investigation of Sandusky relating to suspected sexual misconduct with a young boy in
a Penn State football locker room shower. Again, they showed no concern about that
victim. The evidence shows that Mr. Paterno was made aware of the 1998 investigation
of Sandusky, followed it closely, but failed to take any action, even though Sandusky
had been a key member of his coaching staff for almost 30 years, and had an office just
steps away from Mr. Paterno's."

"Based on the evidence, the only known, intervening factor between the decision
made on February 25, 2001 by Messrs. Spanier, Curley and Schulz to report the
incident to the Department of Public Welfare, and then agreeing not to do so on
February 27th, was Mr. Paterno's February 26th conversation with Mr. Curley."

Pretty much as damning as possible. Statue has to come down. Fans and alums have to realize his abject failure.

the horsing around comment is spin as part of the cover up...ginger has said he told joe exactly what he saw

and dont believe for a second that joe didnt at least hear about if not help cover up the incident that came to light in 1998

and while there is no evidence of joe knowing about any other claims against sandusky i personally find it inconcievable that in the 30 years they spent together that there wasnt a single other time where there wasnt rumblings or talk about sandusky and kids...whether it be locker room chatter...rumor mongering...whispers at a local bar...or even a parent bringing forth concerns

Freeh is murdering all 4, as he should.

Louis Freeh, the former FBI director who led the Penn State-funded probe, said in remarks released Thursday that former athletic director Tim Curley consulted with former head coach Joe Paterno following sex abuse allegations against Jerry Sandusky and "they changed the plan and decided not to make a report to the authorities."

black and white, right there.

good bye legacy

Indeed he would. No clue why he and Spanier were not charged in the first place based on this report.

I bet on the wrong horse here. The crow doesn't taste very good.
