Also, the schools they transfer to will have exceptions to add scholarships above the normal limit.

^ thats an interesting piece of this that no one has really expanded on. So not only does 5 star recruitX leave PSU for OSU, but OSU doesn't need to spend a scholarship, thus bending PSU over and farging them right in the ass. In a shower.

I don't think anyone cares but for the record I totally support the NCAA penalty and the removing of the statue. It farging kills me as a fan and alumni, but as a human being there isn't one bit of doubt that both moves were appropriate.

Big 10 is having a press conference at 11am. Rumors are they might ban PSU from the B10 championship game for 4 years

Don't think it matters..if PSU wins more than 5 games in any of the next 4 years, I'll be surprised - B10 championship game isnt anywhere near their immediate future.

the athletic department pays it and there is a stipulation that the money being used can't come from the smaller sports or affect them in anyway.

it goes to set up an endowment to go towards victims of child abuse

$12m a year for 5 years. Big Ten also going to put Penn State's share of bowl revenues to charities over next 4 years, estimated to be $13 million total.

The money is the 2nd to least severe of the penalties, next to only the meaningless vacated wins. The scholarships and bowl ban will be much more damaging to the university coffers.
