True or not, when Joe Pa gave more than $4M back to the university he pretty much bought the right to set the terms for his retirement.

penn states problem was not getting rid of him ten years ago...the older people get the more stubborn and out of touch with reality they get...thats where paterno is...ten years ago he would have been pissed but he would have understood it was the best thing for the school...now hes completely blinded half senile and cant see the forest for the trees and is dragging the thing he most loves in the world into hell

if nothing else gets rid of him it should be the disgraceful conduct of the team off the field and the fact thats hes lost all control of his players

I think Joe has a hard one for Bowden. I think he won't go willingly until Bobby goes first. He wants to retire with the record for D1 wins.

Anyone else catch the rumors that Bill Cowher was going to replace JoePa? Supposedly he's selling his NC home and his daughter is checking out schools for a basketball scholarship, but people think it's a sign that he's coming back. Whatever...

BTW, my ex worked for the Provost for a while, and ended up in a lot of meetings and events with Spanier. The guy has the ego to show Joe Pa the door. If they have talked to Cowher, I could definitely see it happening.
