Seriously, this happened at least once every couple of years or so in the USAF.  We would always see safety notices about standing too close to the engines.  I actually saw a video once of a flight deck guy get sucked into a fighter jet engine, and spit out the other side.  In that particular instance, he was spit out whole and IIRC alive.  Of course, they don't have turbines like this Continental flight does. 

Yuck...   flight-guy-soup....

Some psycho artist-chick used to use a jet engine to paint pictures.  She'd get a giant canvass, and throw paint into the exhaust wind of the engine, where it would splatter on the canvass.  Probably looked something like that.

I did see the video Demon was talking about on the Discovery Channel or something.  One of these amazing but true video shows, the only thing bearable at 2 AM.

First one is the guy sucked through the military engine, and the second is a guy VERY lucky his head didn'tstay in the helmet...
