The drawback to marital longevity is your wife always knows when you're really interested in her and when you're just trying to bury it.

Sounds like exactly the kind of thing a NASCAR or WWF fan could enjoy.

Or old time hockey fan, before it became watered down and marketed to the masses for much success, high TV revenues, and very in-depth coverage in all the major sports cities newpapers.

Oh wait...    strike everything after "masses".

So an old time hockey fan goes to watch the fighting, not the skating?  The brawls, not the saves?  The thuggery, not the scoring?

Gotcha.  Like I said.  NASCAR/WWF on ice.

Also...I realize the subject of the thread, so I'll drop it and move along now...

Damn right your moving along.

Great post IGY.  I want to see the Fedoruk fight against the Canadians when he pulled the guy into him and knocked the guy out in one punch

Were you guys among the 35 people who watched the all-star game?
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

No, because the hockey in those clips isn't included in the "New NHL".

I'm not advocating returning to 1975 type hockey, but physicality and fighting is a part of the sport.  Even if you don't like it Dio, it has been a fundamental part of the league for as long as its existed.  I think it certainly has its place, and the league has become too focused on 'finesse'.

Diomedes

You're quoting MDS, not me...remember, I quit this thread?  Pay attention icehole.

There's no thuggery in hockey.  Not nearly enough blacks on the ice.

I know who I'm quoting.  My first response was to MDS, second was to you since you made your position quite clear in this thread.  Sorry if many of us see little correlation between the WWF and fighting in hockey.
