it's hard to say, and it depends on what the expectations were.  i think his play was a bit dissapointing this season.  i realize that he's had an injured and back QB throwing to him all season.  but the mental mistakes like jumping offsides, dropping passes, and fumbling the ball are all causes for concern in the future.  he's also a dreadful blocker.

Without McNabb, he's useless.

Jerry Rice would suck with the bums playing quarterback right now.

I'll reserve judgment on him until McNabb is healthy again.  But if I had to give an answer, I'd say he's been a raging disappointment this year despite the laughable QB situation.

C'mon the guy is a farging turnstile in the run game.

I never said he wasn't.  I also said he's been a raging disappointment, but then again, so has everyone else on offense.

Ummm... when McNabb is healthy, he'll have a "legit" QB.  Reggie Brown is also a legitimate receiver and will be a great #2 next year.

I agree that they need a true #1.  Whether or not they get one is up to the Michelin Man.

will mcnabb be mentally healthy?...theres a question as to whether he has the nuts to come back and buck up after this year...not to mention the pressure on him next year is going to be crazy...every worm burner is now going to elicit boos...every loss will be on him...ect...ect...ect...he doesnt seem to be the type of person that can handle rough times...when everything is going great hes all jokes...but the minute the going gets tough mcnabb gets going in his pants

he could be great next year with a legit one...if not hell be solid and nothing more...i do agree in the future he will be a great 2...as i mentioned on another thread i believe hes better than reggie wayne right now...just doesnt have the surrounding cast

Who has this question, you? I don't think anyone has ever questioned McNabb's toughness.

You don't need street creds and tough talk to be a great football player. That BS in the oher thread about DM not having the leadership style to be a great player is nonsense. An arrogant, blustering attitude is not a necessity in a great leader. Maybe it's necessary in a rap posse, but not in a football locker room.

Agreed with most of what has been posted. Overall, I'd grade LJ a "C" at best. If I consider a lot of the preseason expectations, it drops to a "C-" or "D+".

He can make spectacular plays, but hasn't been consistent enough for me. First and foremost, a starting NFL tight end should be a reliable receiver, and LJ is not. As noted, he's also not a very effective blocker. Additionally, he obviously needs to work on protecting the ball.

I think he shows enough promise that I wouldn't give up on him getting to where everyone thinks he should be--and, the offense has been in a general malaise since the Chiefs game--but, he's got the 2006 season to put it together, or I think they need to look to upgrade.

At best, the Eagles need to look to add a solid second TE who can at least block in the off-season, unless they are absolutely convinced that Spach can evolve into a more effective "cap-bargain" next season.

The guy has played on a broken ankle, with a bruised sternum, sports hernia, cracked ribs, broken thumb......he list goes on and on. Your house must be full of nitwits. Question his accuracy, his brains, his leadership but not his toughness.
