It's still a fan load of horseshtein if you haven't experienced the pain of no major sports championships whatsoever in 23 years - and that's if you count the NBA. Otherwise, we're now pushing 26 years.

The Phillies winning a World Series definitely wouldn't take the edge off the lack of Lombardis in the Eagles' trophy case, but it would take away part of the badge of honor of being a Philly fan all-around despite all the losing.

Bro... I'm an Eagles, Knicks, Mets and Wolverines fan. Tell me... where the hell is my boatload of championships? I've experienced PLENTY of "pain" with my teams not celebrating championships.

Besides... my love for the Eagles has bled over into other sports somewhat. Just like my hatred for the Cowboys has prevented me from rooting for the Mavericks for this NBA title... my love for the Eagles has always made me pull for the other Philly teams to some extent. I don't hate the Phillies. I don't hate the Sixers. I like to see them both do well. Honestly, because I couldn't care less about hockey... don't care one way or the other for the Flyers but if they were in a position to win a title... I'd like to see them get it done.

Now I don't claim to feel the "Philly pain of no championships" to the extent that most of you guys do. Never have... never will. But being an Eagles fan... people throw that "no titles since '83" thing at me too and I'd love to see it end just like you would.

Why would you root FOR the Mavericks is the question. Miami doesn't house any Philly rivals, except sort of the Marlins, and Dwayne Wade is a great, exciting player. Whether you hate or like Shaq, he already has plenty of hardware, so it doesn't matter either way. Go Heat.

Because it is DALLAS. The Mavs share the same city (at least in the team name) as the Cowboys and they're guilty by association. I just feel all wrong rooting for anything good to happen to that place.

Because of the Cowboys... I got pissed because I wasn't the one who popped a cap in J.R. Ewing's ass.

To me... Brokeback Mountain ain't nothing but a documentary on everyday life in Dallas.

Seriously though, you get my point. Due to the Cowboys, I hate Dallas and everything about it with a passion. Rational? Maybe... maybe not. Genuine? Please believe it.
