Walker, if he is cut or traded, is going to cost an arm and a leg. If it is the trade route, the only way the Packers trade him for little to nothing is if he has a MeO moment. If the Eagles can screw Green Bay and get him in the process, I'm all for it, but if he wants a huge, high-end number one (50-70+mil) contract with all the trimmings (huge bonus) coming off that injury, etc., no thanks. If they can get him in here with an incentive laden deal, something simliar to what Wayne got, but with some more of the money tied to incentives, he'd be a pretty good catch. Using Hood in something like this would make a lot of sense.

First... the Pack ain't gonna cut him.  It'll have to be a trade deal.  The thing is... that coming off a torn ACL, his trade value and his negotiating power are probably relatively low.  He'll still get paid... and he deserves to be... but I don't think he's looking for any record deals or anything.  His gripe in GB is legitimate IMO... he's still working off his rookie contract and had become one of the top WR's around before his injury.  Peanuts.  I think a deal similar to what Wayne got (or even a little less, due to his injury) would be plenty.

As for the Pack... I'd definitely slide them Hood and a 4th, maybe a 3rd.  He's only 27 and can provide the Eagles a deadly combination along with Brown on the outside.

Wayne is the 3rd highest paid WR in the game of football.  Giving Walker a similar deal wouldn't exactly be getting much of a discount in consideration of the post-ACL effect.

Damn... he is isn't he, with TO no longer being up there?  Guess the Colts luv them sum WR's.

Still... I would offer Walker a little less... say $28-32 mill, $7 mill SB... with injury incentives to protect us incase that knee doesn't hold up.

Either way... it would appear that Walker would be the best WR option to present itself this year.  It'll cost some change... but it's a chance to solidify a formidable WR corps for years.

Would be more than nice to get him, but that's tough for me to see realistically happening.  Doesn't mean it couldn't...but it's just tough to envision the circumstances that would get that done.

The real question is not about money but about what compensation the Packers would take for Walker, a former first round pick.  Would they take a 3rd in 2006 with a conditional 2007 pick based on performance?  I dunno.

I don't want to lose Hood.  He's proven to be a solid nickel corner.  Do any of us really trust in Ware or Wynn?
Anyone but Reid.

PoopyfaceMcGee

No.  We're not giving them another nickel CB to put into their starting lineup.

I would give up a second for Walker if he's healthy.

Or the money Reno, Wilbur and two 4ths package.

No doubt, but that's why I'd rather only give up the 3rd up-front and then a conditional pick that could go as high as a 2nd for 2007.  That way, the compensation is more than fair no matter what happens.

Wilbur > Walker

seriously though, is Walker completely healthy?  Who says if the Eagles opted to trade for him that he'd stop being a whiny bitch?

1. You trade for him and immediately re-do his contract.
2. He's worked out with Donovan in the off-season and knows the offensive system.
3. It would seem most star receivers are whiny bitches of some sort, but the Eagles at least have experience there.

so...

is he completely healthy?
