The point is that it's unsettling that they keep getting close to 1st downs in 3rd and long situations.  Get over it.

Why am I complaining?

Last year, I could COUNT on the defense to stop the other team- and often make a big play on 3rd and long.

This year, I pray to God that somehow the defense gets lucky enough to hang on by the shoelace of the freaking 4th string WR/RB/whatever of the freaking 2-8 Green Bay Packers and be fortunate enough to have it happen a yard short of the first down on 3rd and 15.

THAT'S why I am complaining.
