Even though I think they don't have too strong of a case I like this for a few reasons:

I just remember the look on Andy Reid's face during the press conference for the signing of Kerse and JK mentioned that the had talked to the eagles...the day before, when he was still a Titan.

That is alot worse than anything JJ did.

It was dead since the Eagles kept kicking their teeth in every year.

Now Dallas handed the Eagles their asses twice and Lurie files the charge.

IMO the league is taking this TO thing a little personal:

FOX Sports has also learned that the league office last week sent a memo to all teams specifically warning them from direct or indirect contact with Owens as well as talking about the possibility of picking up the controversial All-Pro weapon.

Both the memo and the tampering charge were issued prior to arbitrator Richard Bloch's 38-page decision earlier in the week that sided with the Eagles on all accounts of the Owens matter. It's unclear whether the Eagles continued their complaint after Bloch's ruling made the issue moot.

The penalty for tampering is wide-ranging, with the worst being loss of draft picks. However, that is usually reserved for extreme cases. In this case, Jones never mentions Owens by name, although it's clear he isn't deflecting interest.

Any way to farg Dallas is fine by me, I hope they are guilty of tampering and are stripped of a pick. And farg Dallas fans, freakin hypocritical morons, if ANY athlete ever pulled something similar to the Star incident in Philly our fans would be out for blood, not openly willing to accept him.

I can already hear their fans:

1. Tuna would never let TO to become a distraction
2. La'Roi Glover wouldn't put up with his shtein in the locker room
3. The Bledsoe situation is different then the McNabb one

I asked TWO WEEKS AGO on the EMB why, after the Dallas win over the Eagles, when Jones first opened his mouth about "letting Owens sllep on the Dallas star", why the Eagles weren't filing tampering charges. You can't, I don't care how many games he's suspended for, talk about possibly obtaining another team's player WHILE THAT PLAYER IS STILL UNDER CONTRACT. Owens is still under contract.

And for those Cowboy fans that talk about Kearse talking to Reid the day before he signed, Kearse's CONTRACT RAN OUT ON THE LAST DAY IN FEBRUARY. So, technically, although the FA period didn't start until March 4, his contract with the Titans was finished, and like all players whose contracts finish then, they are in a state of limbo until the FA signing/trading period starts.

What I find hilarious are all these fans saying, "Parcells can handle Owens. After all, he has handled Johnson and Glenn." What they fail to realize is that Johnson and Glenn BOTH PLAYED FOR PARCELLS BEFORE. Personally, I don't see Owens landing with any team who has a WR with a big ego.

Try this site. There's homerism everywhere, but the homer to realist/discontented ratio is lower here. It's not generally as warm and fuzzy as Cowboys Zone.
