Reid's making the announcement shortly on Eagles Live

Oh, and I also agree that this is a terrible precedent.  I'd like to have faith that the arbitrator-Skins-fan guy made this judgement without personal feelings interference, but if the rumored decision is true, I just can't see how he did this without figuring "Screw the Eagles" or "Maybe the Skins will pick him up?"

but there are 2 different issues, the arbitrator is only ruling on the suspension and it's length, if he reduces it to 2 games, all that means is TO will be getting some money back.

either way TO was going to be reinstated after this weekend because this wsa going to be the 4th game of the suspension.  the Eagles have said they would deactivate him the rest of the year, but he is still on the roster so he can come to the facilities and be distraction.  the Eagles are saying they will release him if he decides to do that.  that decision of realeasing him has nothing to do with the arbitrator.

i'll bet right now the Eagles are giving him two choices, 1) you stay home and quiet and we let you keep your signing bonuse 2) you're a distraction, we release you, and go after your signing bonus.

Andy sounds even more out of breath than usual.  Hasn't heard anything about a decision from the arbitrator.

That's a great point, and one I hadn't thought through.

Either way, I feel it's a bad precedent to allow cry-baby's to serve a minimum sentence....

instead of answering questions, reid should get on the table and do the truffle shuffle for 10 minutes and then leave the room.

Ooooohhhh... McMahon said that Koy was throwing passes around when he should have been helping get the signals in during the first half.  Apparently, the radio was out for much of that first half.  Could explain why both offenses were much better in the second half, with the problems corrected.

Dave just said that Sal Pal told him he believes T.O. will likely be released and will be claimed by the Miami Dolphins.

Per KFFL:

Bob Glauber, of Newsday, reports an arbitrator is expected to rule Wednesday, Nov. 23, that Philadelphia Eagles WR Terrell Owens' suspension will be reduced to one or two games, and that he will immediately be reinstated. A league source familiar with the Eagles' situation said this morning that the team is prepared to release Owens if he decides to return to the team and create a distraction. If reinstated he can return to the team, however, the Eagles have stated they plan to de-activate him for the remainder of the season. If released he is subject to the league's waiver rules.

It would set a bad precedent if that's what happens.  Don't like your contract?  Bitch, moan and destroy a locker room until they're forced into releasing you, so you can go wherever you want...

Exactly what I just said on another board, BigEd...
I posed this question on this board, and this morning I read Phil Sheridan's article this morning that says just cut him and get on with life.  So I called him on it in his Q&A forum - here is his response:
QuoteQ.

In response to your "cut him" article today - it has bothered me throughout this nonsense that people seem to be missing the real concern of the Eagles right now: John Wellborn, Freddie Mitchell and now Terrell Owens. If you don't like your contract and want to become a free agent, just roll out some "conduct detrimental to the team". It doesn't matter if you have the franchise tag or are 2 years in to a 7 year deal. If the Eagles let TO walk, doesn't it set a dangerous precedent that can seriously undermine the integrity of contracts from this point forward? In the past it wasn't a big deal - the players in question weren't really high profile, and did not do well (financially, or performance wise) after they left - but what about TO? You could add to that list the franchise tag opponents: Douglas, Trotter & Simon. Undermine the CBA and force the Eagles to relinquish their rights by whining to the press and anyone else who will listen?

A.

I see your point, Jeff, and I think that's a legitimate concern. First, just to be clear, Freddie Mitchell wasn't unhappy with his contract. The Eagles basically gave up on him as a player and he went out saying a bunch of critical things about Donovan McNabb. John Welbourn did get himself traded by waging a brief public campaign. That said, I think it's really rare that you find a player willing to go to the lengths that Owens has gone to in order to be disruptive. In other words, not many players are selfish and obnoxious enough to conduct themselves that way within the structure of an NFL locker room. So I think, at this point, the better safeguard to future episodes is to avoid having guys like Owens on your team in the first place.

An ad hominem fallacy consists of asserting that someone's argument is wrong and/or he is wrong to argue at all purely because of something discreditable/not-authoritative about the person or those persons cited by him rather than addressing the soundness of the argument itself.

holy shtein, you live in Souderton?  so do I.

Well, it's hard to disagree with his LAST sentence....
