The house was built by players like  ,  [Joyner], [Brown], [Simmons]," he says. "They set that legacy of Eagles defense, then passed it on to us and we built from it. Now, it's their turn to uphold the reputation."- TV

QuoteYou're a free agent looking for a team or a board? Welcome either way.

Most definitely NOT a team :bash...what kinda question is that?  Thank you all for the warmest of welcomes.

KoRn...I will take heed, as I am not about the Ned Beatty scene at all.  I have been white-water rafting on the Chattooga River, though (where they filmed 'Deliverance')...and NO, my ass wasn't sore ;D

although this thread has gone completely off course, it needs to be bumped for any potential newbie that may have enough balls to post on it.  :CF

Captain Sockmonkey

Name: Captain Sockmonkey (that's just the name on my driver's license but mom calls me John)

Location: Rochester, NY, heartland of Bills country but they suck

Why am I here: I need the daily infusion of Eagle's smack-talk and try to figure out things like shtein and darth and the like.  Basically a lurker....

Comments: Have  been a fan of of the Iggles since the Jaws days when I was making my football allegiances.  Plus my old man was a Raider fan so I need to root against someone in 1980.  I believe in Kelly vs. Midnight and think that Kerry Collins is the Jeff Hostetler/Mark Rypien/Doug Williams of his generation (except they won the superbowl during their ONE GOOD YEAR).  Can you guess what year that was for Kerry?  Also, Syracuse is right down the road and I watched DMAC for years run the Orange O.  Glad to see he landed with the birds.

CF is the Schtein for us out o' towners who bleed a little green (kelly green).  I'll stop lurking now and add my two cents whenever necessary.
Flanders - Ok, Nelson's our quarterback.
Nelson - Thanks 4-eyes.
Flanders - Ralph, you'll be on special teams.
Ralph - I'm special!

I think my work here is done  ;)

Glad to see you come out of the ranks of lurker to become a Vet stadium janitor :)

Reidme

Wow, a little late on this one ...

Name: Mike

Alias: Reidme

Location: Philly Suburbs, near Plymouth Meeting.

Why I'm here?: Got addicted to the old board, now it sucks, and Sami kept bugging me until I started posting here! ;D

Comments: Went to school in Lower Merion, and started following the birds in the late seventies, and the actual first game I remember vividly was a playoff loss to the Succaneers in Tampa, not sure of the year, maybe 79. My dad went to the Eagles Superbowl in 1980, and I've been waiting for my chance ever since. Really liked the '85 Bears, watched that Superbowl with a headband and sunglasses on. Knew all the words to Superbowl shuffle. When we(Eagles) hired Buddy, I went off the deep end, and followed that team very closely, until the bitter end. Attended most of the games, and I remember when teams actually feared our defense, not because of their strength, but actual fear for their well being! :poison

Crier of the week: Terrorists of all backgrounds. Tantrums are selfish acts by children; extortion and murder disguised as fervor for a cause are both selfish and just plain evil. "We're gonna blow up things and kill people until we get our way!" There's a convincing argument, huh?

Why I'm here:  I received an invite to come over when this board first started, but was a regular on the official site along with many other posters here.  This is a good forum for me to discuss Eagles football with fellow Eagles fans.  It also helps keep me in touch with anything else happening locally in the Philly area.

*EDIT* I live in North Carolina now.

Location: Grand Rapids Mich.
Why I came to this board:  to get an eagles fix...kinda hard getting news up here about the nfl...note to self: lions are not a real nfl team  ;)

I first started liking the eagles when I was 8, back in 88.  I liked their jerseys and helmets and it just went from there.  I am pretty much one of the few diehards here so when I go to the bar and cheer when the eagles score, I get lots of stares.  If it weren't for nfl sunday ticket at (insert sports bar name here) than I would hardly ever get to watch the eagles.

How come I just got the image of the Dolphins fan at the Jets bar commercial for NFLShop? LOL! But seriously, I can relate...I've been a die-hard Philly fan since I was born. I can't remember NOT being a die-hard. Anyway, after living in NY for years and LA for a few years, I found any way possible to find a Philly sports bar. But before I found them, I had to go to any sports bar. Believe me, watching Philly sports in NY bars is FAR from fun.  :-/ :paranoid
