The downloads I get through the basic version never go faster than 60 kbs...  the Pro version ($18.88) advertises "faster download speeds"...   color me skeptical, but has anyone here ever paid for the Pro version of Limewire?

I have it and there's more locations to choose from, the connections seem to be faster, and there aren't as many corrupt downloads as there with the regular version.  Pay for software?  What's that?  :P

Tip with Limewire:  when you start downloading something and it reaches 10%, click the preview button to make sure it starts playing the song.  If it doesn't, you have a corrupt file.  Normally it doesn't tell you this until you've downloaded 99% of the file....

That's what I do.  It works well with music although sometimes I'll still get a bad file because the song will be cut off at the end or something. 

That trick doesn't work as well with porn though.  If you're downloading a bad file it usually only takes a few seconds to download so you never even get a chance to preview it.

If it says it's the full "snowballing, gang-bang orgy with hot barely legal teens", but it's only 104kb big, it's not really what you're looking for.

I heard the same thing.  We must know some of the same people who download lots of porn.  I feel sorry for them.
