He'd be great at the top of the Phils line-up. And Gillick was the guy who signed him.

But no way they trade him. Not a chance in hell.

more than that, nobody on the phillies would go out there. if the mariners get some good young players and another bat for him, who knows, maybe they consider it. but it would basically have to be abreu for him, and some other young guys, and i would be more likely to farg jessica alba and salma hayek at the same time than abreu to accept a trade out there.

I may be in the minority, but...

Josh Beckett (who has to be the main part of the deal for the Sox) has been vastly overrated in his career.  He has all the talent in the world, but last season was the FIRST in which he won even TEN games (he won 15).  Who knows if Beckett will have a recurrance of the blister problems that have plagued him throughout his career.

And, while Lowell may have just had a really, REALLY bad season, he is also at an age (32) where his skills could be in decline.  Does this mean that the Sox move Mueller to 2nd base?  Is Mueller on the block?  Is Boston just a way station for Lowell?

I like Muller.  He'd be an upgrade over Bell, anyway. 

I agree about Burnett.  Am I right in remembering that he's had TJ surgery?  If so, any GM that would give him $50M (other than Cashman, who plays with Monopoly money) should be immediately fired.

Yeah, he had TJ surgery and other injuries too. He's a fraud.

Mueller is kinda old. I'm done with the "sign the old guy to play 3B" thing. Need some youth there.
