They've tried to stretch the field with him--McNabb overshot him twice in the SF game, and the long pass Sunday was just a tad overthrown--bouncing off the fingertips.

I nearly lost a television on that one that bounced off the fingertips.  Last year McNabb, more often than not, would have nailed that pass.
I was at work and when McNabb just missed Lewis... the whole newsroom had to think I just got shot or something.  :-D

he catches everything...but hes not nearly as fast as everyone says he is...

its not a matter of whether youd rather have him or pinky...id rather have him and pinky...pinky outside to run go routes and the like...and lewis as the slot man...leiws is not an nfl #2 wr...

I think he's fine as a #2 WR. You have to remember, IGY, that he's still young. He's not on PInky's football IQ level yet as far as adjusting to routes and knowing when to cut one a yard or two short if need be.

He'll continue to get better. Just have to give him time. But I like what I'm seeing so far.

i dont know i dont see any great potential in lewis...what i see is a super solid guy that will be good at everything but not great in anything...imo hell be an excellent #3 guy for a long time

hopefully it wont be an issue...id like to see reggie brown pass both lewis and pinky in the not so distant future

If Lewis is indeed a "super solid" guy for his career...kinda like a Troy Brown type guy, then I'm cool with that.

But I think Reggie, in two more years, is a star.

agreed on reggie and great call on troy brown

thats exactly who i see lewis as

I would be more than happy if Lewis becomes a Troy Brown-type reciever.

I would like to hope that Reggie surpasses them on the depth chart come next year, just because he has great ability and I would not want to see it squandered.

I like Lewis because he's consistent. He looked consistent on his underneath routes, coming out of breaks, and shows good mechanics in USING HIS HANDS to catch the ball. I hated having to watch Todd try and trap the ball between his arms and chest. He's an NFL WR, no chest catching allowed.

I don't think Lewis will ever get a superstar contract or be considered one of the best in the game, but again he doesn't have to be. All I see is that he is getting a good amount of touches during the game and his catches are moving the chains. I can't think of a blatant drop that he has committed so far in a crucial situation.

He'll just be a clutch, consistent guy who is very workman-like in his demeanor. And I think thats perfect criterion for a #2 WR -- at least this year. I think Lewis' consistency will help him out next year possibly in the slot working the middle of the field if Reggie Brown ups the ante and becomes a #2 (or #1 depending on TO's situation).

considering it is Lewis's first year starting, I think he is doing a fine job.  He will only get better with more experience.

You can't take all of that stuff, you can only worry about what you do and you know what you are capable of doing. That's all you have to worry about. I don't take too much of what people talk about because I don't care really. I have to do what I have to do and that's play football."

Someone needs to speak to G Lew and tell him that the REAL message board is right here.  My imaginary contact only goes so far.

I don't really think that there's much that anyone can complain about with Lewis so far. I wish he was a little taller, but he is what he is and that is more than sufficient.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Glew has the speed, confidence and ability and i think once McNabb gets back on track we'll see how good he really is.

the wr's are fine.

Thrash and Pinkston were 'fine'.  The WR's now are 'doing a nice job'.
