Question for eagles fans who don’t necessarily have Philly ties

The Eagles and Flyers occupy roughly 78% of my time and energy. I don't really care about the Basketball or Baseball but when I do pay attention I root for the Phils and Sixers.

When asked why I cheer for the Eagles, I usually say something like "Why are you worried about what I do?"

Most of my love for Philly sports go to the Eagles. I somewhat follow the Sixers. While I'm not much of a baseball or hockey fan, when the Philly pro teams do well, they get their props from me.

Every professional team but the Sixers.  I'd gladly start cheering for them again should they ever rid themselves of you-know-who.

Been an Eagles fan since 1977 and I was only 8 years of age!  Lived in Gilman, IA at the time.  Weekly readers were printed in Philly and they highlighted Philly athletes each week.  I've never lived out of the midwest and I always get a look like why in the world would you root for the Eagles?  Well, ViQueens, Chefs, and Bumbling Broncos just have never done it for me... I bleed Eagles green and then my Dad moves to Pottstown, PA and works in Valley Forge and I finally get to an actual game at the vet during Andy Reid's first year...  now on Sunday, I'm going to my second EAGLES game at KC.  I live in Nebraska and for the most part I love being an Eagles fan... and it's easy once you start naming players that these guys have never heard of, then they realize that you aren't a bandwagon guy, because no one would know who some of the old timers are... that's how I handle it... and then wear my eagles green... PROUD!!

Being in Rochester NY, I get it all the time.  All I need to do is sport my coat with the kelly green sleeves and tell them Reggie White will always be an Eagle.

I've never had my loyalty to the Eagles questioned even though I live 1,000 miles from Philly.

I think people realize you're a true fan when they see you sitting and watching a team every week that eventually went 3-13.  There are four of us who can say that in our circle of fans.  The rest are either bandwagoners or newbies.  In either case, I really don't give a shtein.  When it comes to watching the Eagles, my policy is "the more the merrier."

But we live in Florida.  So many are from "up north" they assume we're from the area.

Heck, when I'm not working I usually in an Eagles/Phillies/Flyers t-shirt of some sort.
